nope. no hair flick.. what really piques my interest is, one, the red "underwear" that is being blocked by the shadows could it be there or not.. i think the look of the suit would be more stream-lined without it.. i see it kinda working for this suit, plus it will be a current rendition.. and two, who the f*ck knocked him into that vault door and is it gonna be a scene in the movie.. maybe the photo was released just for the first look, but i'm hoping him and zod get into fisticuffs..

They believe it's finally time to put the 1978 origin story with Marlon Brando to rest. The last movie traded heavily on it, and looked what happened.
My first reaction to the picture -
Only Zack Snyder would shoot the movie in such a way that Superman looks like a villain. 😐
Second, close examination seems to suggest he is sans trunks.

Yeah, the texture is what's bothering me, it looks way to rubbery and shiny which is going to react to the light badly no matter how it is lit. I hate that texture on the Spider-Man suit as well, just no need for it.
The blue looks too washed out as well and it appears there is no trunks which would throw off the design too much (unless they film him from the waist up for the whole film 😄 ). I like the design of the shield, cape and the attachment of the cape and the boots. Its just that texture all over, even the shield and boots haven't escaped it and it kills the design.
Someone should also tell Cavill he's not playing a serial killer...

I don't get why people think Superman looks like a villain. He just looks pissed. And Superman has been pissed a lot in comics. I love both the new look of Superman and Spider-Man. They look somewhat similar.
I don't see pissed, being pissed would involve a lot more emotive reaction on the face. Cavill's expression is quite calm and with the angle of the face and the 'dead stare' it comes off as creepy, not angry.
And in any case there is no evidence to suggest that this is anything but a staged shot to debut the costume and tone, so people suggesting that he's fighting someone could well be jumping the gun also. It doesn't look like that to me, anyone who could provide Superman a difficult fight would have mussed him up a bit more - looks too clean (apart from the environment) to hint at a confrontation.

That would depend on the writer though wouldn't it? I'm only asking because I'm not that knowledgeable about the history of the character but I've read there are some who make him weaker/stronger. Some who allow the suit/cape to be torn up and some that don't - things like that.
