Superman: Man of Steel

By Friday or Saturday all reviews will be in. Then we'll get the critical picture of how it's seen in North America.

Given the way the reviews are going, I am going to have to say that I think the movie will top out at 60% on rotten tomatoes. Most of the complaints seriously seem to be with the abundance of action. All I can say is wow. Does every superhero movie have to be half comedy? I have to say, I am pretty taken aback at the negative reviews given all of the positive buzz. I was expecting low 80% at the lowest. Currently it's sitting at 70% and not an hour ago it was 71%.

I admit that it is silly to judge based on the fact that none of us have seen the movie yet, but it makes me wonder if some of the critics are too used to Marvel's and the old superman movies style to give something new a chance.

Iron man 3 is 78. I think this will stay at 70ish. Thought, critics hate movies with action like Transformers.

Well, I hope it at least stays in the 70's. Of course, I'd love if it jumped to the 80's or 90's but I don't see that happening. Not sure what people were expecting from it.

A friend of mine got to watch it and she was blown away.

Does anybody know if there is a post-credit scene? I don't want to wait around for 10 minutes for nothing while my kids ask every 45 seconds why we are waiting.

Internet searching says MoS does not have an after credits scene.

One reviewer said, no love story. WTF

My sentiments exactly. If I wanted to see a love story i'd watch a chick flick.

I want to see insane feats, actions and superman beat up the bad guys. This is it!!

Seems like these idiot critics use the same criteria to judge all movies regardless of the movie type. Chick flick, has to have a love story, Rambo blowing up terrorists well he needs a love interest, forget the fact that Stallone is almost hitting 70. Idiots. I was like WTPhuck too. Lol

The steady drop continues. 69%. Damn it.

Yeah, Superman Returns is ranked higher so far. Hell, SR is ranked higher than Avengers and Batman Begins on Metacritic. Not looking too good.

Quite disheartening. I am still going to see it, most likely many times. It just sucks that reviewers apparently want Supes to be a dead beat dad who never throws a punch and spies on his ex.

Now bad reviews won't detour me from seeing it, but lets be honest, some people are certainly affected by them. Enough to make a big enough difference at the box office? I hope not.

Probably not. Look at Transformers ratings on RT. It's HORRIBLE, yet they made a crap load of money WW. Same with a lot of movies. It's all about what the GA THINKS.

It doesn't have to be better than avengers. or even dark knight. it just has to be GOOD. and it has to make GOOD MONEY. That's all I want.

👆

Watch when everyone comes back and says it's prefect. The lack of character dev and love story isn't a biggy.

which is why people should go see films and judge for themselves..

Im with Pr on this.. I just want ta good story and good action

70% isn't bad on RT, plus the "rotten" reviews aren't that negative. Many of them are 3/5's and many reviews say this will be a crowd-pleaser and that the GA will eat it up.

Anyway, final BO prediction: $300 Domestic and $400 OS for a WW of $700.

3/5 by RT standard is a rotten review 😕

The critic gets to decide if their review is counted as rotten or fresh and apparently plenty who gave it 3/5 count that as a rotten. Hell, one reviewer gave it a "B-" and said that was rotten score.

Don't really care about Rotten Tomtatoes.
