Superman: Man of Steel

Yeah, I brought it up a while back. Intense heat vision seems to momentarily hurt them, leaving them open.

They aren't used to it. It's not like they do it everyday.

Never got the impression it was painful. The only time it appears they are in pain is when Zod first uses HV and that could just as easily be surprise as this was the first time fire shot from his eyes...

Zod looked liked it was hurting. Superman definitely winced and let his guard down due to some kind of pain after he melted the girder. It definitely looked like it wasn't fun when he was using it against Faora and Nam-Ek.

That being said he used it as a kid and he used it fine in the underground ice cavern. The only possible explanation I can come up with is that at certain intensity, it starts to negatively effect them. Maybe their eyeballs start overheating, I don't know, it's just a theory based on what we saw.

I'd like to see Zack Snyder describe how he imagined Kryptonian powers working, particularly flight because it seemed almost like telekinesis to me and came off as his most powerful ability, even more so then strength.

Do you even like any comic book movies?

I like tons of them
Avengers,Batman Begins, Iron Man 1,2,3 , Blade 1,2, X-men 1, 2, Incredible Hulk, Superman 1,2 FF 1, 2 Batman 89 Batman returns
Spiderman 1,2 Ghost rider, Captain America, Thor

Some reasons
Crappy flashback/cut scenes
G.I Jor El....from jumping on a creature from star wars attack of the clones, to his action hero b.s His annoying gestures and his appearances way to far into the movie.
The b.s between Clark and his earth dad, the idiotic way they set up and executed the horrible scenario and premise for the relationship and how it ended.
Lois and her antics seemed forced and boring, as were Perry and the whole cast. No charm or deep connections can be made, at least for me.

There is more, i just do not care to go on. So yeah awesome action Woo Hoo!!!.I might actually like Green Lantern better, it at least entertains me more. I do not mind the damage nor the actions of Superman, like i said the action was great..everything else sucked i.m.o

I imagine even for Superman fire coming out of your eyes would hurt to some degree. I mean think about it, hes channeling all that power through the most delicate organ in his body, yes he superman, but still thats an immense power to unleash. So ya Zod was hurting a bit using it. Kal was used it. His vision seemed impared for a second when he took out the steel beam about to hit him.

Zod's heat vision moment has happened before in the comics/animated movies. A good example is Kara not having control over her heat vision and lashing out without control.

However Kal-El's instance with Zod does seem like it has some cooldown/negative effect. Either the edit was sloppy, or the scene was meant to show that. To be frank I am with Rage and agree that extreme heat vision hurting him would be cool and interesting to explore.

let the good ole Sheriff elaborate on the movie with an UNBIASED review.

Man of steel was decent and entertaining. it was not epic.
would i buy the dvd? ....no.

But it was entertaining none the less, and a much needed improvement over the singer version.

out of 5 stars id give it a good 3 1/2.

the action was great and there was no love triangle and young El getting pushed to the point of killing. HOWEVER my one problem is Young El deciding to kill when the General threatens to kill humans at discretion but he didn't seem too upset when people were already dying from the gravity machine ect.....but it is what it is.

all in all the movie was fun to watch, I wouldn't buy the dvd but it was a significant improvement over singers fantasy.

Not epic, but a fun and entertaining watch.

Maybe the sheriff Roscow should stick with listening to Waylon Jennings instead? 🙂

Awesome!

And Brazil and Japan have yet to open as well and those are big markets.

Don't be so sure of a sequel, yet. Yes, this movie is a success and all, but there is a major shift going on at WB, so nothing is guaranteed until we hear more. Hopefully at this months comic cons.

If the film triples it's production budget of 225 million I think we can assume there is a sequel coming. Maybe not JLA but a MOS sequel for sure.

Like I said, I know the film is a success, but that doesn't always mean a guarantee. Until something is green lit and WB gets under control.

It's still got someway to go before it triples it's budget.

But it's made enough to guarantee a sequel at least.

JLA's another story, because it rests on more than just Superman.
