But thats not what SHRA is. The act only requires you register with the government and undergo training. Thats it. After that if you want to reveal your identity to the world thats completely up to you

That is exactly what you are doing you think some sheild guy who finds out won't tell anybody not even his family who will tell their friends all of a sudden a thousand people know a heroes identity

i think its just one of thse things, cuz the sentr is usually so detached from the caped community and humanity as a whole. i really dont think he's gonna choose a side pre se...even if its just to balance the power that the pro-reg has. im sure his stance would be like....

you know im the sentry right? im the single most powerful being on earth, and you wanna throw me in jail forsaving ppl's lives?--me?...the sentry? you gotta be shittin right?

then the powers that be would be giving him the same speech they give cap about how his registration would set a good example. then he'd just scoff a them and retire to his tower until a next crisis arises. or if shit came to shit he'll probably just leave earth. cuz with cloc being a semi sentient computer im sure he can easily convert the tower into a space ship--that is, if i already doesnt have flight capabilites, and its been a space ship in disguise all along 😖mart: then boom he pulls a magneto and just put cloc in orbit and just live there by himself and forget about humanity

he is one of those guys who's just too powerful to be contained to earth--i mean unless he's gonna be an uber-villain and everyone has to band together to stop him or something, but i believe marvel owes it to sentry to let him have some cosmic adventures

Look, things like villians finding out your identity can happen whether you work with the government or not. You are in fact more prone to be spotted while changing in your apartment than you are to have someone hack into a government mainframe and get your personal info anyway. And with SHIELD knowing most hero's ID's anyway I don't see what else bad could come out of registering.
But seriously, every time a villain knows a hero's identity, they keep it. For personal gain. It's a honor. Green Goblin. Venom. Kingpin. Every masked hero has at least one villain who knows who they are. Their families are not killed because they have some kind of pact with the villains. But, with all the ID's being in the files, what if someone with technological skills (Lets say, Mad Thinker) hacks the S.H.I.E.L.D files and finds out the ID's and starts selling them in black market. Suddenly, that psychopath who devours human souls but would have no hope of finding your identity buys it for a thousand bucks. And every member of your family has their soul devoured.

If you had insanely powerful enemies out there, enemies that would torture and destory your loved ones in the BLINK of an eye upon finding out your identity...would you still do it? Knowing that there is a 99.9% chance that they will go after your family when you're out working for the government?
If they feel the risk to their family isn't worth the service to the people, then they simply DO NOT PUT ON A COSTUME AND GO OUT FIGHTING CRIME.

Superheroes patrol. Merriam-Webster defines "patrol" as: "the action of traversing a district or beat or of going the rounds along a chain of guards for observation or the maintenance of security." Sounds like they're looking for any trouble to me.

So...aren't cops "looking for trouble" then?

Yup, they are going to go after Atlantis in CW: Frontline. 😈

CIVIL WAR: FRONT LINE #9 & #10 (of 10)
Written by PAUL JENKINS
Penciled by RAMON BACHS, STEVE LIEBER & OTHERS
Cardstock Cover by JOHN WATSON
The betrayer among the Marvel heroes stands revealed, as war with Atlantis seems inevitable! And Speedball comes face-to-face with his accuser!
32 PGS. (each)/Rated T+ ...$2.99 (each)

Can't wait to see Namor smacking some Pro-Reg ass...

Another problem that should be addressed is that the villians with the money ie The Hellfire Club can do what ever they want with this Registration Act. Sebastian Shaw has already been given immunity by the 198.

I guess it comes down to which is the greater evil...

Look, most heroes already had their identities on file with SHIELD. If someone was gonna a) hack and find out the identity or b) some agent blabbed it probably would have happened already and would have been a concern even before the topic of the SHRA came up.

What did Stark tell Peter when they were on that Plane? he basically said that if your not with me, you will be hunt down and attacked. What kind of a law is that? I thought American was supposed to be civil.

You think Speedball deserves what he's going through right now? You think that Johnny Storm deserved to be beat into that coma? well once people know your identity that whats going to happen.

You think those 600 people in Stamford deserved what happened to them?

Damn. It becomes more exciting. But I say Thor isn't the real one. He got his eye, and he is some kind of project. Who the traitor can be? By the way DC thanks for the Thor info 😄

How now some secretary in the goverment knows instead of a high class agent or goverment official

Yes they are, difference is its they're job. Difference is cops can be held accountable if something goes down. The cops run the risk of having someone on the street going after they're family and yet since they care enough to help their communities they still go out there

There no longer supposed to "hide behind the mask". The American people want there identity's public.
That's not what the law requires, and that's not what the public wants. The public wants to know that the heroes will be held accountable for their actions.

Yes, I understand that. But it's not as black and white as you're making it appear.

Now, answer this as if you were a superhero. For real.

You're a superhero. Doesn't matter what your powers are. You have a loving wife, two kids, and your parents are still alive as well. This is in addition to many close friends, friends that are like brothers to you.

You have extremely powerful enemies. Enemies that could destroy your loved ones with the hand of their hand or use them against you to further their own personal agenda without you interfering. Your only advantage is that they don't know who you are, so they don't know who your loved ones are to attack them.

Now, if you knew for sure, or least 99.9% positive that they would do this if they knew who you were, would you really take such a chance as to register? I know they say it'll be "safe and secured", but how often does that happen in comics? That info will be accessed almost as soon as it's entered. Truthfully, honestly, would you really sign your loved ones' lives over if it meant following the law? Would you really?

So now their not supposed to save lives? just imagine what Marvel earth would be like if half the hero's decided earth wasn't good enough to save?

No, the act requires that your identity be made public.
I'm in the process of scanning now. What I'm scanning says that the identities only have to known to the government.

I don't understand. Do you mean that now some secretary is gonna know? There have been many an ocassion where Daredevil and Spider-Man have walked around the helicarrier without their masks. Besides why are you assuming now the identities won't be as heavily guarded as they were before?

Yea, but cops don't handle beings who can incinerate their flesh with the blink of an eye.

When normal cops can take care of such villians, you come back and lemme know.

No, it doesn't. I'll post the source shortly.

I think that is what Civil War is trying to get across it is a good idea but what if the heros don't want it because they would feel to unsafe for loved ones. Then should they be forced or go into retirement.

That is what Civil War is supposed to be both sides being right but going about it in the wrong way.

😕
