It would get him locked up. Even though he wouldn't be fighting, he also wouldn't agree to register with the SRA. That, by law, gets him locked up.

X-Factor is also composed of mutants, who are appearing to have different rights in this situation. Who, and I know you know this since you posted it, are already registered with the government prior to this Civil War incident. It even said in the article that they can protest all they want, but when they are actually caught interfering, they will be prosecuted as well.

Yes, if they are caught interfering as in violently resisting, or aiding those who are. Cap, is registered by default, his ID is known already, so if he had chose not to fight he wouldn't be arrested.

Yes, he would still be arrested for not complying with the SRA. Even being as peaceful as possible, it wouldn't stop his imprisonment for defying the law.
No, the SRA says that if you're a costumed hero and want to enforce the law, you must be registered. Cap is registered by default because of who he is. His crimes lie in aiding those who aren't registered.

Yet if he protested peacefully about it I'm sure the whole SRA would be abolished right? 🙄

Yes, well Magneto considers a lot of thigs that's happened to mutants immoral. Does that give him the right to lead an armed rebellion against the government? Or should he try and change things peacfully like Charles?

Which is why I respect him anymore. Even though he is default registered he still goes out to support other. Simply because he thinks its the wrong thing to do. It would be grossly out of character for Cap to just go along wiith something because it was the law.

If he changed the publics perceptions, then yes, it would be abolished. Hell, Cap could've ran for President and won based solely on who he is. If he actually tried, he could change the public's perception. Hell, has ANYONE even tried to change the public's opinion, or have they just fought it.

So he would just stop supporting his fellow teammates and brethren who support his cause, too? Would he start hunting down his former teammates like the SRA requires of him?

No. That's why he would still be arrested, for not complying with his orders. And Cap isn't going to stop superheroing outside of the government's orders.

Peacefully like Charles. Which is why I consider Cap wrong for being soo rash. I agree with Cap's views on the SRA but not how he solves the problem.

I'm inclined to disagree with you there. As much as I agree peaceful protest would have been the right option, it wouldn't have stopped the SRA or its backing.

And it's kinda hard for the Anti-reg to get their message out with their limited numbers and restricted access to media, families friends etc.

But it wasn't necessary for him to chose violence for his first means of protesting the law.

The unregistered "heroes" have said that they keep fighting to help and protect the people. The people have said that they don't want the help and protection of unregistered heroes. Yet the unregs are determined to force their aid upon a world that doesn't want their aid.

Cap wouldn't have any prob getting his message out. He's the most well known superheor on the planet. If he wanted to give an interview, every reporter and news agency on the planet would listen. You underestimate the power Cap has in this area.

Not if he resigned his commission. Then they could no longer give him orders to fight his brothers (not that he seems to have a problem doind so).

But he's still a military man. If every military person decided to start following orders or not follwing orders based on their view of if it's right, the military would fall apart.

I'm in agreement with you that it wasn't necessary to attack first.

The people? There are still a great number of people who don't support the act. Do you want Cap and others to selectively choose who to help? Conversely should the registered heroes only help those that pushed for registration. Should the ones that denounced the act suffer while Iron Man watches and thinks "Not my problem, bet they wished they had protested differently". At the end of the day its about round up the bad guys to protect the people, no matter how they react to you. Its what has made Spider-man a hero for years

So you are advocating blindly following orders. We would hope that the military wouldn't ever give questionable orders but if soldiers are ordered to shoot children on sight are you saying that they should cause they were ordered too?

The United States is a democracy. The very basis of a democracy is that the majority rules. The majority of people have said that they do not want the help of unregistered heroes.

In pretty much every classic spidey story, the majority said they didn't want him to help them. Yet he still chooses to save people from burning buildings and the like............
