First off, Thanos has a plan set in motion so all he wants to do it take up time to age the runner with the time gem. This was before his final upgrade and Thanos has shown the ability to negate speed against the Fallen One.
Also, the Runner is a lost faster and more maneuverable than Superman making this example completely worthless.

Someone taking his ig means he loses his power. Even with one other person he still reacted to the Surfer in time.

Thanos face is not armor, nor is armor on his body standard equipment.
Thanos durability doesn't exceed the ability to be stunned and affected by SUPERMAN, the man of steel.
If you disagree with the former then Superman crumbles the shields by continuing to pound them.
