Thanos regarding Champion: The gem's wearer can tap into this reservoir to augment any force it wishes. Champion has managed to do this on a subconscious level. He has no idea of the gem's worth, belives its power dormant and only wears it as a good luck charm. Champion credits his successes on his own battle prowess. It shall prove his undoing.

Thanos isn't any stronger than any other of the Top tiers. Thanos is as strong or nearly as strong but a much better fighter. this is why he can handle multiple top bricks at one time. Doesn't have to do with him being superior to them in strength. We see batman handle multiple humans this way all the time. He's superior in skill. Thanos is the teacher of Gamara. Who would expect anyless from him?
