Now don't get me wrong, I'll be the first to admit that Thanos is an extremely powerful character, whom would easily stomp Superman, Thor, Surfer, etc. However my problem is that people tend to use this fight to boost Thanos while imo he was fighting a character who was letting him live.

Now in this particular fight, Odin isn't his usual galaxy busting self. He talks to Thanos, gives Thanos chances to give in, casually fights against Thanos, etc. Not once in the fight did Odin actually seem enraged. Now you may disagree, but this was obviously a Odin who wasn't going all out.

And again Thanos stood up to punishment from him unlike the others, its a durability feat. Someone having trouble killing Thanos doesn't mean hes on their level, hes just that difficult to kill. The Maker, Galactus, Omega etc. are all way beyond him but have had trouble trying to kill him (in fact you could argue only Drax could kill his current version).

Thanos does not assume. Thanos is a genious of universal impact. he knows about all of his foes. I would assume that he knew what he was talking about when he made the statement. Had Thanos ever fought any of the crazy hulks?

I've pointed this out before but Thanos was fighting Champion very soon after being resurrected, when he refered to avoiding a confrontation with Hulk "over the years", he would have been refering to before he died. He was vastly more powerful when he was brought back to life and has smacked Hulk around since then, he would have no need to avoid Hulk, so that statement may not still be true.

Edit: Following on from that, when Thanos was traveling to the In-Betweener and going through all this dimensions and realities, he says:

"Journeying there is not something I would have dared in my past incarnation. But that has all changed"

So clearly there are things that he wouldn't want to do in his previous version that he didn't fear after his ressurection. Facing Hulk could be the same.

Your summation is so far off it's riduculous. If there is no reason to battle Hulk, why would Thanos go looking for a fight? There is nothing to gain.

He didn't back down when Hulk was about to attack him, and Thanos told him to leash his dog, or Thanos will.

He didn't back down when Namor was kicking Hulk's ass, and then Thanos trapped them both in shields, in which they couldn't get out.

One last thing I'd like to point out about the Hulk/Thanos thing, Thanos equated fighting Champion with the power gem would be like fighting the Hulk, and over the years he'd sought to avoid that confrontation. Well he clearly was no longer avoiding it as he made that comment right in the middle of fighting that battle! If he feared that confrontation he'd of found another way to get the gem other than a one-on-one battle, he was clearly NOT trying to avoid it and came away victorious, so why would it still hold true? And he has faced down Thor with the power gem, another fight like Hulk which he didn't try to avoid by teleporting away, he is obviously over it.
