It's funny, I have tNEGtC, and I still can't find it.And again Lightsnake, when will you accept that the NEC labelling Palpatine the most powerful ever is nothing more than an opinion of a biased historian inside the SW universe?
Ysanne's Isard's biography. I remember the tail end of it: "and he used the mindfogging powers of the Force to command the bystanders to forget what they saw."
save your insults about my grammer for someone who cares, thats a lame way to avoid the point, which you never do get through your skull.
His hands where trembling cause he was straining, ive seen other guys and they didnt have there hands strain, but wow your so smart you just see beyond what everyone else see's yeah right.
and that cave in, how do you know that was an entire mountain top oh and he lifted it peace by peace not just all of it at once, thanks, if i could id have closed this thread just so stop arguing with you.
yeah he called him the strongest in another source its stated he's the strongest in that era not all of sith history. Oh and how funny that he could only kill one hundred men with that lightning since he's so darn strong, but that was your argument in the luke vs DE sidious thread right, that he could only kill 100 troops.
'When the Sith finally emerged from a thousand years of watching and waiting, they numbered in accordance with the tradition set down by Darth Bane, only two. The most powerful of these was Darth Sidious, an ice-cold, diabolically calculating genius equipped with the strengths of the dark side of the Force, as well as an enormous wealth of Sith artifacts, equipment, and knowledge. Perhaps the best weapon in his arsenal was his keen understanding of galactic politics, and his seemingly unlimited ability to engineer situations that ultimately served to further empower the sith'
Are you referring to this, Gideon?
If so, then there are two major flaws.
1. 'The most powerful of these was Darth Sidious.' - you assume that the 'these' refers to the entire order of sith lords that was set down by Darth Bane, when it can just as easily be interpreted that the 'these' refers to the then current two sith lords. So basically, the argument is inconclusive, and can't be used.
2. Power is ambiguous, you can't deny this. Now when the passage states that Sidious is the most powerful, it also lists his weapons (some would define 'weapon' as 'tool of power', so to speak) as not only strength in the darkside, knowledge of the darkside, and an enormous wealth of artifacts and equipment, but also political knowledge and skills in manipulation; intellect related attributes, so in this context, power is clearly not purely related to combat prowess, but intellect as well.
*Sigh*

bull, he has not shown anything that makes him the strongest, oh and gideon why dont you act your age for once less you really are a five year old, got my own sources that say he is the strongest of that ERA not of the entire damn history of the sith.
Oh really? Force storms, draining an entire planet of the force, moving faster than they eye could see. Yea man he's a wimp. And your 'sources' mean jack shit considering they aren't canon.
Whatever, back on topic.
Sidious was described as a "black hole in the force." This sounds similar to Nihilus, only, Sidious is more powerful (there is overwhelming blatant evidence for this). Yoda and Mace could both contend with Sidious, a more powerful Sith than Nihilus, and, now they have thousands backing them up. Nihilus couldn't even kill an unsuspecting Traya, what is he going to do against an entire order, where some individuals are more powerful than him? I'll tell you. Die.
And Sion isn't that much of a problem. If they can deal with Durge, they can deal with Sion physically. Or, if Sion is completely invulnerable to physical attacks (quote please), then they can just break his will.

Didn't realise the Sith spirits were infallible...

That is speaking in respect to the time of their duel, so all this proves is that by RotS, Sidious was the most powerful darksider at the time.
