Saw it today and did not like it at all. The villians where lame in my opinion, though if they would have spent a little more time developing them I think it would have came across better. Ryan Reynolds has a few good moments but in the end I really do believe this is the weakest super hero film we've seen in a long time.
Despite all the superhero movies we've seen in the past 10 or so years they always managed to keep it fresh to various degrees. GL is the first movie to come along that makes the genre look dated.
Afterwards I kept asking myself "if this had come out in 2001 would it have been as bad?" Well..........Maybe not as bad but still I think this just barely ranks above Dragon Ball Evolution and may still be put below Elektra. This brand of movies has moved along at a rapid pace, and I think even when Industry has a miss theyare starting to hit the right buttons.
Compared to the more recent outings of The Dark Knight,First Class, and Thor, Green Lantern comes across as a dying cinematic dinosaur that would have thrived somewhere around the mid 90's.
