well Marvel still does have some good books and also rubbish to go along with iti suppose its the same with DC.
It's been that way for a loooong time. One of my favorite titles it Uncanny X-Force and Iron Fist when it came out. Fantastic Four has some cool stuff recently as well.

So Mark Miller thinks it's the "Worst Super Hero Movie Ever", yet the dc fanboys will try to sell it as a decent movie, hoping and praying that enough people will see it so they can see more DC movies in the future. I guess I can't blame them. If Marvel had so few good movies I'd be nervous too.
How many good movies does Marvel really have?
Iron Man, Thor, Spiderman 2, X2 and now First Class. I cant really think of anymore. Most have been a major disappointment.
Yes some others have made money, usually sequels which we were expecting something good from ahem SPIDERMAN 3 ahem!! Spiderman 3 was the biggest load of crap ever!!
Seriously Id rather watch Batman & Robin.. At least that had Uma Thermon looking Hot! The only reason Spiderman 3 made money was hype from the second movie, and the trailer looking awsome, plus kids just going to watch it with their families. Kids would just watch Spidey swinging around no matter how bad the movie.
Im actually a Marvel fan, but im addressing this because of how friggin peed off I am at what Marvel have done with most their movies.
I mean the way they destroyed Cyclops in the X movies is seriously unforgivable! And bringing him in X3 just to die made X3 an even bigger pile of crap if thats possible.
And you know what DC has the biggest box office success by far with TDK. Accept it, and get over it. The new Batman series is damn good, and you know it. The original and the sequel, both awsome, something Marvel have Never managed and you know it.
As for the GL reviews Im reserving judgment until Iv seen it. Because critics reviews dnt mean crap to me, not after they went on about how bad the Star Wars prequels were. Hell critics even say Return of the Jedi was crap, and thats a lot of people's favorite from the OT!

I'd rather a company try and fail with mixed results than try and fail almost every time. Marvel makes more movies, thus has more bad ones. DC fans have Batman and Superman movies....and a shite GL movie I suppose.
No id prefer they not bombard us with crap comic book movies, and just wait and give us a damn good one every few years. And like I said, giving crap movies is mostly what Marvel has done. And people are actually getting sick of comic book movies now, because Marvel has made us fed up of it.

Moron? I never even saw the movie, idiot. 😛On the other hand, i can say that DC has it's share of bad movies, same with Marvel, who has struck out with Ghost Rider, Elektra, X-Men 3, Spider-Man 3, Fantastic Four, Punisher, etc...
I'm on nobodys side, because I don't WORK for either company. I just want to see GOOD movies.
Now back to work.
You know it's funny because I thought I knew what a bad comic movie was when I saw Ghost Rider and Elektra, etc, but the more I think of it the more they seem like masterpiece's compared to GL. 😮
I hate to say that but I really feel that way.
Oh, I'm going to ENJOY dissecting this post. Take a breather Prep-man, I have someone else to flay now 😉

Spider-man 3 was infinitely better than Catwoman, or Batman and Robin, or Green Lantern apparently. And let's not bring up the Kilmer or Clooney Batman movies...

You just lost any credibility you may have had.
Seriously Id rather watch Batman & Robin..
At least that had Uma Thermon looking Hot!Ah, so your standard for movies is hot chicks. Not bad to look at, but not a good gauge of movie greatness.

Kids would just watch Spidey swinging around no matter how bad the movie.Yes, just like they'd dress up like Joker waiting in line for Dark Knight. Kids do the darndest things. But Spidey 3 would have made a ton of money no matter how bad it might have been; it rode on the success of the first two movies.
Ah, the old "I'm a ***** fan but I'm really not" argument.
Im actually a Marvel fan,
but im addressing this because of how friggin peed off I am at what Marvel have done with most their movies.Technically, it's what FOX and other companies have done. Marvel sold their movie rights to movie companies, so yes, it is partly their fault. But most of the movies they've made under the Marvel Studies line have been great.
Uh huh...so that was what made X-3 bad....and all this time I thought it was the lack of a coherent plot, and trying to cram too many things into not enough time....and a horrid script.
I mean the way they destroyed Cyclops in the X movies is seriously unforgivable! And bringing him in X3 just to die made X3 an even bigger pile of crap if thats possible.
You say that as if I didn't know that already. I do accept it and am actually glad for Chris Nolan and that franchise. I'm more than over it also. Glad DC can actually have one leg to stand on after all. Superman sure hasn't helped them lately. I like Batman; both the comics and the new movies.
And you know what DC has the biggest box office success by far with TDK. Accept it, and get over it.
The new Batman series is damn good, and you know it.Yes, I do; and I've admitted multiple times as much.
The original and the sequel, both awsome, something Marvel have Never managed and you know it.This makes you sound like one of those fabled "kids" you are so apt to mention. Spider-man 1 and 2 were great, X-1 and 2 were great, Iron Man 1 was great and 2 was good. And Marvel is the one who kick started the comic book industry after the Keaton batman days with Blade and X-men....
One of the first intelligent things you've posted lately.

Because critics reviews dnt mean crap to me, not after they went on about how bad the Star Wars prequels were...............I could stop my argument on this alone.....
Actually, right now it looks like this is the Summer of Marvel. Both Thor and X-men have had critical and financial success so far, while Green Lantern is stinking up the joint by way of review scores. Perhaps it will end up making lots of money. But Marvel is actually pumping out fewer bad movies now and making quality movies. If anything, Captain America looks to seal the deal later this summer....cannot wait.

I don't know, but GR was one of the worst movies I have seen. FF was also one of the worst casted I have seen. I also forget Daredevil as well. So, Marvel only has a handful of good movies, IMO. Iron Man (not IM 2), X2 (even though it was a trainwreck at times), Spidy 2, and Kick Ass. That's pretty much it.
Just got back from seeing Green Lantern. I enjoyed the movie. Its nowhere near as bad as ppl are saying it to be. We need to stop comparing comic movies to The Dark Knight. I dont even consider TDK a comic book movie, but i will say that GL is better than Superman Returns.
GL has minor changes in it, but then again, what superhero movie doesnt. I think it was a good intro movie. People talk about lack of character development, but Hector was as developed as almost any villain in a superhero movie to date.
Out of 5 stars, ill give it a 3 1/2-4.
Just got back from seeing Green Lantern and thought I was pretty good, kinda was like what I thought it would be. Would have liked to have seen Sinestro a little more and more interaction on Oa especially with the Guardians. Defiantly not as bad as what a few people have said. I think people saw The Dark Knight and got spoiled and now always want it that good, not going to happen. I'd agree with jrodslam and give it a 3 1/2 out of 5. Prep did you see Green Lantern yet??

Oh no. Dont get me wrong. I dont think they wanted to take anything away from 89 either. I do also feel as if it was a nod to 89's, but its many ppl who dont even see nor care to acknowledge it.

Hey, i personally think TDK is overrated. Rehashed bits n pieces taken from 89 that many ppl dint even recognize. I still feel Batman 89 is the better Batman overall.
I don't think people are getting caught up in comparing the other DC films to TDK either. It's just that when you do a movie like that people think DC is on the upswing................and then they drop Jonah Hex.

Oh man your arguments are so bad. Im gna completely destroy this when I get a chance.
There again, you've basically implied X1 and Iron Man 2 were better than the Star Wars prequels. So Just based on that im not sure if your worth my time.

Not that i agree with buddy but as flawed as those flicks are i'd rather watch them than the atrociously bad star wars prequels.

Well I thought they were awsome. I think the only reason some people hated them was because they didn't compare to the Originals and there was too high expectations from them. But theres still enough people who loved them too.
And comparing X1 or Iron man 2 or even Spiderman 1 to them is just uncalled for!
Btw do you also think Return of the Jedi was atrociously bad.. Because my point was I dnt listen to critics who actually say that as bad as Phantom Menace was it was an improvement on Return of the Jedi!
Well, this movie is unfortunately going to sink faster than the Titanic. It's only made $52 million domestically and $17 million overseas. Seeing as how Cars 2 and Dark of the Moon are coming out in the next two weeks, I'd be shocked if it even reached $200 million world wide.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, they should have just used Kyle.
If you take one of the most boring Green Lantern and adapt such a bland depiction of him, can anyone really be surprised that Reynolds comes off as this huge, idiotic, wise cracking *sshole that makes it -at least imo- nearly impossible to find sympathetic?
The saddest part is that this could have been an actual good movie They should have just made a Flash flick. And it should have starred Wally West, not John's newest pet, Barry Allen.
I seriously hate the guy and if Johns ends up being the scapegoat for this crash and burn, I'll go to bed with a smile on my face.
