Green Lantern movie!!!

I didn't feel there were any acting problems with superman returns... in fact, they fought admirably to carry the movie even though the plot was completely boring and illogical. I think they made a bad mistake tying it to the christopher reeves movies, without plans to include anything really unique.

Superman Returns was a snooze fest. Like somebody else said, he did nothing but lift things. I still havent seen Green Lantern. My family has a tradition of going to see all the superhero movies together, but none of us has any inspiration to see this one. It might be the first superhero movie we wait for to come out on DVD or Pay Per View. I just know that if we do end up seeing it in the theater, its only going to be an ok movie at best.

I can't remember what GL comics/arcs those stories were based from.

The Kilowog/Deegan one was loosely based off of a story in the "Tales" books during Blackest Night. Bar that, I don't think so.
I was just skimming through some older GL stuff, and I noticed that Mogo's story in Emerald Knights was identical to his story in Green Lantern #188.

The funny thing is, Ryan Renolds is playing both DP and GL.

The Superman movie is far from the greatest. Singer seems to have agreed w/you & that's part of the reason SR was so horrible. They shoulda made an original movie instead of just rehashing the Donner films.

It was the greatest ever Superhero movie, but Singer basically made his movie too similar to the original, which ended up being a movie that was outdated, and something we've basically seen before.

Your right about rehashing Donner being a big mistake.

😂 Superman Returns!

This speaks volumes about you. You dnt even have any friends do you?

Now, what the world thinks of you, and uneducated kid acting like an adult on a comic book forum, well, that is slightly annoying.

Lol! Still sticking to your uneducated kid accusations. Whatever. I suggest you sort your issues out and Get A Life.

😂 @least we agree on something.

Seriously tho Supes movie(like Supes himself) had the benefit of being the only one around at the time, thus standards were really low. Compare Supes to the better superhero films from this era & the Supes movie just doesn't stack up. Watch it &then watch Ironman or TDK or Spidey1 or Watchmen or anything good &you'll see what I mean. It's far from the greatest. Very far. Hell, the Thor movie is better than ANY of the Supes films.

Shut the **** up. uhuh

Nope 🙂

I've been looking for any comment from DC Entertainment head Geoff Johns, about the failure (nay, spectacular failure) of this movie.

Silence, so far... 😖hifty:

No way dude.. Superman The Movie, and Superman 2 are still 2 of the greatest superhero movies of all time. Superman 1 was just on the other day, and nothing in Spiderman 1, Iron Man or Thor compares to the awe you feel when Supes spins the Earth around at the end..

Or for that matter the feeling you get when Supes confronts Zod in Superman 2. Seriously though those movies are like 30 years old, and still better than the superhero stuff they make today(with the possible exception of Batman Begins, and TDK).

Id compare it to the Original Star Wars trilogy being far superior to the prequels, despite the prequels having all the CGI and Lightsaber fights e.t.c.

You know he doesn't literally spin the world backwards. It's just the visual idea they came up with to demonstrate he's going back in time. The world would be destroyed if you screwed with it's rotation.

Superman I is still very iconic, in the top 2 or 3 superhero films ever made. Iron Man is at least Top 5, Thor is in the Top Ten.

In my opinion the movie was not bad, not the best movie, however i enjoyed it.

for its time maybe but that movie has not aged well at all.

Maybe it depends if you saw it as a kid in the theatre (I did.) Someone else growing up later, watching it only on TV and VHS may have a different perspective.

I still loved the og Superman movie. I wasn't even a fan when I watched it as a kid, but last time I saw it, it was solid. Green Lantern is a little bit better, though. I think most comic book movies don't hold up. The X-Men movies are average, same with Spider-Man.

89 Batman still rocks, though.

😕 I guess we're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one. When I last saw Supes spin the earth backwards I thought "Where's the drama if you can just rewind time whenever you **** up?". It's part of the reason I rank those movies so low.

I saw it as a kid &liked it. When I saw it later as an adult, it was just too corny.
