Emma Frost Respect Thread

I'm honestly not trying to troll or anything, but I just noticed something on here. As far as I can tell, Warpath is nowhere near invulnerable. He just has heightened durability/strength/speed/reflexes/etc. But it would be very possible for him to be knocked out by Scott and Emma.

Anyway, I'm not discounting the feat, because she still does really well there. Just wanted to clear that up. 🙂

I know that he's not truly invulnerable, hence the word "supposingly".

Warpath was actually Class 70 & could fly back then before Bru changed him to about Class 25. There`s supposed to be a showing against the Juggernaut somewhere around here. As a Hellion Warpath had some decent showings not too sure about X-Force. The issue called him invulnerable but your right Bru`s version is not, heck he doesn`t even give that M level of invulnerability he once had but he`s pretty damn durable.
BTW What did Ems do to those Vibranium Knives?

Knives are non-issue here. They aren't even mentioned- either CIS on part of Warpath or previous "knife-case" was PIS. I've posted entire fight here.

according to monolith, the bio whiz, at uncannyxmen.net, warpath was circa class 90 and at least bulletproof prior to the high evolutionary's rebooting of the mutant gene. since, he seems to have actually gotten stronger [i assume this was written prior to brubaker getting a hold of him.]

in x-force, he was the brick who fought other bricks. he's plenty durable, so that's quite a feat for emma.

More on Emma's ways of having fun
X-Men Unlimited v2 #4

No big feats here, except showing off how skilled Emma is at pissing off everyone.

Continued in the next post

Fun, anyone?

Emma Frost&Kitty Pride

Giant Sized Astonishing X-Men#1

Kitty Pride is phased into giant metal bullet to avoid the thing from hitting Earth. The mission is kind of suicidal, and the Emma is the last person Kitty communicates with while making her sacrifice.
Emma also states that she can make virtual environment for Kitty\reduce her fear.
Kitty is phased\merged into the bullet during all of that.

Farewell, Kitty

Emma's mental surgery on Cyclops- consequenses
It turns out Emma has only temporary returned to Scott control over his powers (should be that- otherwise it'd be a massive retcon). But on the other hand, the so-called Jean Allmighty didn't do even that😉

Interesting observation or artist's error?
Emma communicates with Colossus telepathically while smashing up some aliens in her diamond form.

[B]Emma and her students at Xavier's

Emma's first meeting with her squad at Xavier's which would be eventually known as Hellions. We see some of Emma's habits, she seems to dislike pizza (but despite that was once seen eating hotdogs on panel and hotdogs are much more junk food than pizza (at least to my taste)). Also we see some traits of her "guilt complex"- she gets sad when Julian starts talking about Hellions. The whole thing that she allowed him to choose the codename "Hellion" shows how much she believes in that boy's potential and great future.

Emma's reaction on someone taking the name "Hellion" without letting her know
Generation X#60

Normally it's not good news for anyone.

Also there's probably the first (or one of the first) on panel mentioning of "osmosis" as "latent thought patterns".
Note that Emma, while quite adept in using osmosis which may work just like psychometry in some cases, has never developed actual psychometry as she states here:

Quick learning via telepathy

Emma Frost#16

Astrid Bloom teaches young Emma how to learn tons of information quickly using telepathy. That skill was honed by Emma later so that she can "transfer" said information to the minds of other people (that's how she taught Scott Chinese).
That also explains Emma being one of the smartest X-Men around- though natural gifts also played its part, of course.

Possible explanation- most "errors" regarding Emma's telepathy in diamond form have happened in Whedon's run- so probably Whedon isn't well-informed when it comes to Emma's powerset?

Danger Room trap

Generation X#56

Adrienne Frost created illusionary reality within Massachussets Academy Danger Room, imitating the last day of Hellions' life, and placed Gen X kids there to die. Emma Frost is blocked from accessing the illusion, but once Monet and Synch destroy the blocking "wall", Emma makes short work on the illusion, mentally reprogrtamming Danger Room (no wonder, though, since most of computers of her design (apparently including the latest models of Cerebra) are built to respond to psi-commands).

Mindprobing a sasquatch

Generation X #58

That's one funny feat. Gen X kids found a sasquatch in the forest and have mistaken him for the Sasquatch, Alpha Flight member. So Emma mindprobes the aminal in search of human consciousness- finds nothing, but nevertheless it's funny.
Then she mindwipes the soldiers who were hunting the beast.

Scrulls' invasion in Frisco

Secret Invasion: X-Men #1

Scrulls are surprised to find X-Men in San Francisco, though their invasion fleet launches full-out attack, including psi-wall to take out X-telepaths.
Before wave hits, Emma fights Scrulls alongside with other X-Men. Note that she fights Scrull soldiers in hand-to-hand in human form, while simulataneously monitoring the city and coordinating the defences via TP (take that whoever says Emma's H2H skills suck).

The psi-wall leaves her bleeding, but with "to be continued..." expression on the face.

Instant learning of languages

Astonishing X-Men #26

Emma instantly teaches X-Men two dialects of Indonesian via TP. Also her culturological comments are...just brilliant🙂

Karma's Possesion Attempt

Karma fails to possess Emma Frost who then makes an observation.

Emma is right.

Addition

Just adding a bit onto that. Note Emma's "Latent thought patterns" remark.

I've posted analysis of that here as a part of question- "does Emma have psychometry?" That may pretty well be the first mentioning of "osmosis" which Emma uses instead of actual psychometry which she doesn't have.

As for Karma "sparring" that's not a low showing as Karma has beaten Shadow King in astral duel and posessed Sage effortlessly.
As shown even here:

True there's also that Xorn incident from Morrisons Annual. I listed it under psychometry early in this thread but now that she states that she doesn't have it I have to wonder what to call it? Telepathic Osmosis? I know Ellis read this issue because he referenced it in Astonishing X-Men #25.
