I would think education would be one of the biggest threats to outdated Islam, just like it was one of the biggest threats for outdated Christianity. Change can often best be initiated from the inside where actual enlightened followers are best able to render change in their faith. I don't see Islam "being dismantled" anytime soon. Being brought into the current age though? Much more possible. And judging by the "moderate Muslims" that exist outside of places like Iran moderate Muslims have much more potential to change their faiths direction then those who have washed their hands of the faith altogether. Both are likely necessary, but where is change more likely to come from?

Because terrorist organizations such as Al Qaida force other people to become Muslim. Many People are becoming Muslim out of fear, not out of genuine interest.
