Sure, I'll "holla bidack." Claiming a charge of slander requires you to prove that the person in question is actually being affected by the slander; simply insulting someone's writing is far from slander. Having a negative opinion concerning a person or their work is far from slander. Have you read the opinion in "People V. Larry Flynt?" Like, actually read the document? Or studied recent supreme court cases that are about slander? If you haven't, please don't just pick definitions of the internet and try to prove something to me.

😮
I can't believe you actually wrote this shit.

OK. here i go.

The "Slander" comment I made was in regards to the OJ debate. It had absolutely nothing to do with Hudlin or his writing.

you haven't even fully comprehended the post.

Of course if you don't understand what I'm saying. it will appear to you that i don't know what I'm saying. which is CLEARLY not the case here.

Wow did you just compare Hudlin to Hitler?

He did, and he was right to.

No he wasn't.

because it's your opinion that it sucked (I loved it) and House Party has nothing to do with someone's willingness to adhere to continuity and character development.

Hudlin also did:

Boomerang (I loved it)

The Ladies Man (I Loved it)

Bernie Mac show (I loved it)

You and I clearly have much, much, much different tastes in movies and television. I don't even want know what kind of music you listen too. 🙁

I think it was more that Mein Kampf was poorly written and still a "classic" and less a comparison between the authors...

... at least I hope so.

Wow way to miss the point 😛

Just because something is classic doesn't make it good or even rational.

Anybody in here like Cassidy(the mc)?

defilippis and weir wrote 32 issues with the new mutants/new x-men, only depowering characters when company mandate called for it, because they're trying to trick minorities into buying their comics? then they'd pull the rug out from under them? and they wrote thirty two issues without at all doing that, yet you still claim that was their motivation? reign it in, idiot. not everybody's out to get you.

x-statix ran as a few dozen issues on the x-force title, then as "x-statix" for about twenty six more issues before being cancelled. it was almost a satire of the traditional superhero story, and got mixed reviews the entire time. most people have a love it or hate it opinion, with very little in between. that's why it was canned. it was being regularly promoted, as with many other comics, in the ad pages and letter pages of most x-titles while it was in print.

progessive and thought provoking as opposed to this absenteeism you claim exists, for one. for actually putting a story of intra-racial bigotry into print, when it hasn't been done before, for another. especially in a mutant story, where most "racial" issues get chocked to the unoffensive "mutant race" level.

i understand the terms used in supreme power. if you re-read my post, maybe you'll understand what i was saying. nighthawk made the comparison between himself and stanley, saying stanley'd been sheltered from how the world really worked. how people "like mark" [whites] really acted toward blacks, how their was an innate lack of balance between the powers, etc. he'd experienced the full brunt of it, much like a "field negro" experienced the full length of the master's racism, anger, and whip. whereas stanley had not, much like a "house negro" who'd been sheltered from that, and experienced comparatively little overt mistreatment. thus, the modern-day blacks unsheltered from that [typically poor,] could somehow claim worse treatment and more empathy for their ancestors than someone more shelthered [usually in a richer, less oppressive environment.] the "funny thing," as i said, was that the roles were reversed in terms of their monetary well being.

storm's traits were taken directly off the two characters. they could have just taken away some of the cat-like features of the one woman, and not made it an "amalgam," thus appeasing your sense that this is racially unjust. but they didn't. that doesn't automatically make it a racist or racially-motivated plot, especially when they did absolutely nothing to hide storm's heritage. she could've been some half-white girl from the states if their goal was to make her "universally acceptable," but they didn't. just because thoughts and practices like that exist doesn't mean they're to blame for everything. grow up a bit and see that.

i wasn't "twisting" anything to make you look crazy, i was correcting blatant and unfounded accusations against a group of people simply because of their skin color. this outright assumption that, just because someone is white, they can't handle a strong black character is the same as assuming just because someone is white, they'd tar and feather a black man for looking at their woman. it completely ignores the majority of white people's opinions on race, and assumes we're all stuck in the era of the civil war. it's a ****ing insult, and it's racist thinking. if it doesn't bother you, or you're not claiming to not be racist, congratu****inglations for the double standard. but when i get offended, i'm going to call people on their bullshit.

the same sentiment goes to his airness and the comment about whites being uncomfortable around non-whites. you got some pop-sociology out of a comic book, and suddenly your speaking for an entire race of people? it's, again, a huge insult. i live in a shitty two-bedroom apartment in a shitty building in a shitty part of new york. i have three roommates, two of which are white. in total, in the ten floors of apartments, thirteen two-bedroom apartments to a floor, there are fourteen white people in this building. you're telling me that, due to the fact that my neighbors are mostly black and hispanic, i'm uncomfortable with them? i don't know my neighbors? i would be uncomfortable passing them in the hall or on the streets? that's bullshit. it's an excuse people use to explain their own prejudices, by putting them in the context of other people. "well, white people are more comfortable with white people. the same applies for black people, etc. that's why i feel yadda yadda yadda." it's bullshit, pure and simple. this pigeon-holing of an entire race because you think some limited experience with racism lets you speak for everyone. it's exactly what minority groups have stood up against for years, but now the same shit's being thrown around. congratulations.

i specifically said that some of storm's relationships [particularly the shaitan/khan thing, and the kissing of kurt and logan in quick succession] didn't make sense. but you said it was somehow more important for her to be with someone of her same color, than to be in a relationship that makes sense. i'm not excusing anything; i'm pointing out how backward that type of thinking is.

making a commentary that hudlin doesn't know what he's doing when writing comics is not the same as causing a big, racially-motivated stink because you think you're being given the short end of the stick. if you think people disliking hudlin and his writing gives you grounds to make allegations of racism and a white man's conspiracy because you won't think about what else may exist out there, you're an imbecile. insulting an entire race of people directly [and an entire group of people based only on their race,] and saying its the same thing as having a black man insulted [not for being black, but for lacking skills or talent or regard for his predecessors] makes you an imbecile. end of story.

and HA, last i heard of cassidy he was being rushed to the hospital when his car or tour bus got smashed en route to a show. i assume he made it, yes?

He's been out the hospital since like November. His CD is supposed to drop this summer, and I got an imeem list with some of his new stuff on there.

My preferences are Hardcore (Post, Math, Metal, Noise), some rock (Progressive / Experimental) Metal (mostly art and post but some melodic death / black metal) and some Punk (but not very much) but I listen to jazz or classical when I draw or write.

...wow...

How many recons have happened in comics to date.

There's a difference between a retcon and plain out ignoring everything about the character 😐

Is it just me or does Hudlin seem to have no idea who Fidel Castro is?

He had Black Panther invite him to his wedding...

The guy is a dictator of a freakin island thats about the size of Rhode Island! How does that qualify him to be in the same league as guys like the President of the United States?!?

He has more melanin. 😖hifty:

How someone who has admitted he made up a statistic can subsequently still repeatedly refer to that statistic is astounding...

3% black mutants? There's only 1.72439% asian mutants, and 1.00023% hispanic mutants. 😐
