If you crash with the car then yeah that would turn off michelle. I friend of mine did the exact mission and got turned down.
If you happen to stay off the main streets and use alleys (which it isn't easy) you can get away with it...

Just the fact that the moment you enter a car while drunk the police will try to kill you if they see you, even if you don't start the car.
