By pedigree, and the fact that Morrison&Johns are on a roll, not to mention the rumors that Morrison is going to tie it into Seven Soldiers and huge parts of New Gods mythos, Final Crisis sounds like it will be spectacular, and.....if I may dare say it...............make the wait through Countdown worth it........
Almost. 😛 Countdown has been so shitty that even Final Crisis may not be able to redeem it. But it will probably be the best thing since Sin Corp war.

Seriously though, Morrison and Johns working together can't be a bad thing. My only fear is that there will be so much stuff to juggle that they won't actually be able to tell a story....kinda like IC. Johns did about as well as he could with it, but it was just a lot to cram into about 7 issues.

Considering some make the case that Darkseid at his most powerful is in the class of Galactus - never mind Skyfather level - it's an insult that Superman should give him as much trouble as he does. Heck, even a Skyfather level being shouldn't have that much trouble, as most agree Superman is perhaps Herald level.

I know DC all too well. It's why I'm more of a Marvel fan; for their unwillingness to put Superman's power set in a box and have more powerful characters job to him constantly - just because he & Bats are the franchise.
Marvel is a little guilty of this with characters like Spider Man & Captain America, but they never get into impossible cosmic level feats.

Anyone making the case that DS is Odin level, much less Galactus level is out of their mind. The only reason you even bring that up is to try and make a point.
I'll say it once again. Darkseid losing to Superman is like Sinestro losing to Hal. The two are equals so the hero is going to win more often than not.

I would not agree with this, maybe in the last 5 - 10 years or so, but in his first and following years. he was a team buster and clearly above supermans reach 😕
