Infinite Crisis vs. Civil War

Crisis...a lot of deaths happen and a new villain introduced.

I still prefer the Secret Wars over Civil War.

I agree bout the first Secret War. I didn't like all the death's in Crisis though. Seemed senseless to just punch the heads off of D and F listers who nobody would really care about. At least Beetle's death had some sort of impact and resonance

Yea, the first Secret Wars was really good.
IG and secret wars are one of my two favorite marvel cross overs.

Superboy, and Earth 2 Superman's didn't? Max Lord, who's been part of more than a decade of comics?

Wonder Woman commiting murder on live tv?

Lots more died than d and f listers.

I liked both Infinite Crisis and Civil War soo much it's hard to tell (Although i agree with you guys, marvel Secret Wars 1 was amazing, by far the best crossover event ever.) However I think I prefer Civil War to infinite Crisis, simply because I thought the plot was slightly better, plus I am used to DC doing everything on a cosmic scale so Infinite crisis, as good as it was, didn't have such a big impact on me as Civil War did. I thought Infinite crisis was great but I really liked the fact that in Civil War both sides were heroes and villains ✅

Civil War was ok but it started going downhill after Issue 3.

Infinite Crisis kept me going till issue 7.

The original Crisis did it for me. Complex, epic, personal (Kara/Barry), etc. Good times.

But between these two.....eh, not sure just yet. I need to let CW sink in before I can say.

Agree 100%. Infinite Crisis #4 is still one of the top comic books on 2006.

I think the Marvel fans here forgot how much they were digging IC when they were begging me to post all those issues. 😇

Both comics were tripe.

IC With the Superman nexus being stuff and (not to mention the cleaning house thing of the throw aways), and Civil War with the missed characterizations, and jobber auras in full effect.

World War Hulk and Seven Soldiers shit on both, and one wasn't even a crossover.

The best part of IC was the buildup, and the best part of Civil War was the Thunderbolt lineup that spins out of it.

The Thunderbolt lineup sucks. I'd much rather still have the Baron Zemo team.

True, but Zemo has his own mini or monthly right now, so he's fine for the moment.

And i meant that the Omac stuff, and the other countdown books like Villains United >>>>>IC itself.

Alexander looked like an idiot, in that gold costume....WTF?!

It's 2006, and we can't get better character designers?

Infinite Crisis was better because it really wasn't just some pointless crossover

The purpose of IC was to FIX the DCU, where the point of Civil Was to break the Marvel Universe and bring it back together with a whole bunch of Elmer's glue and duck tape

CW was ok until the Thor clone thing, then I totally lost interest. I liked IC throughout, although #7 could have been much better and Wally shouldn't have dissapeared. Overall I'd say IC > CW.

Imo Earth 2 Superman wasn't much of a big deal. Sure he's been around forever but what have they been doing with him. I expected him to die anyway. Superboy's death did have an impact, but Max Lord didn't even die in IC, he died in the lead up.

ANd I was really into IC cause it promised change but looks like a lot of things have reverted already. The multiverse is back, the amazons are returning. If it wasn't for 52 I'd really have a hard time finding out what's different

Let's put it into Detail.

Everyone was Hooked on Infinite Crisis until the 'Villains take over the city' thing happened , that bored everyone to tears. They should have gone with an ending similar to one I posted. Wherein SBP realises that without Alex (who died in the Towers destruction) he can NEVER go home again, thus freaking out , smashing buildings ect ect. which then leads into the ending of #7.

Everyone was Hyped about Civil War and especially Thor but then just lost it when it turned out to be Clor. Whose fault ? Straczynski and (partly) Joey Q.

JMS because he took Thor for his own at the last minute and will no doubt **** him up , Joey Q because if you have to use a cop out like a clone then you damn well shouldn't involve Thor (or ANY character) at all.

And Heres the thing , IC could have been better with ONE issue change , CW needed at least THREE or FOUR.

Thus IC>>>CW

I've only read Crisis

Since pretty much all Civil war (Including all the charcter tie-ins) is coming to Trade back in a few months, I'll let you know then

so did you miss the scans thread or would you just buy it and read it home first?

Re: Re: Re: Infinite Crisis vs. Civil War

Yeah...it's pretty apparent that most people preferred IC even though the poll is close (I guess you can't stop the company biases in any event).

3/4 mini-series were really solid too. Villains United, Day of Vengeance, and OMAC Project were all amazing in their own right. Compare to CW mini's or one shots...Mar-Vell returns...The X-Men, Runaways, and New Avengers run around doing nothing basically.

The best crossover of the year and nobody even gave a crap 🙁

No one cared cause it sucked. That's usually the reason why people don't buy certain comics.

No , no one cared because it was overshadowed by Civil War and it used reasonably obscure characters.

I'm cosigning anyone that said Annihilation. Definitely better than Civil War and the Crisis.
