I figured that since they have the same power that she can do the same but only with a lesser power. But still, a non jobbing Lorna wins 6/10, due to a balance of defensive and offensive powers. Storm is also strong but lacking on the defensive.

The Storm respect thread has everything you all are debating about in the form of actual scans. (Maggs almost beaten by Storm. She held back at the end which gave him the edge and the W)

Blood ripps won't save eiether of them as Storm's powers have a greater range. She can also see the world in terms of energy and instinctively knows the sources of various metorlogical effects (she can sense EM manipulation)

As far as offense and deffense Lightning is just the tip. she's also got the wind. Jovian Pressure feilds have been shown to bust through mountains, and cut through EM feilds. As stated before she can also access the EM spectrum. She can also create "Plasma". Acid rain. Poison fog (using the winds to gather and condense pollution). Asphyxiation. ect. ect. ect. (6,000,000 way to die. Polaris chose......)

As far as cannon: Chris is her creator (period) tha's why i consider him to be the definity on what she can and cannot do. (one of the reasons i'm glad she's out of the X-books, i got tiredd of other writers shittin on her, down playing her mightyness to make other characters look good. "She's too uppity, let's make her "Non-threatening"😉 (by the way, i'm curious. Did her depowerment happen under Chris or after he left?)

As far as the Phoenix Force, it happened in a "what if" (so it is in print)
She was also written to have obtained that sort of power (through sheer force of will) after Dr. Doom made her a living statue. She then was able to change back into her original state through Sheer force of will.

Finally People have got to quit saying "yeah she's powerful but not......."
and had better start showing some mofo respect to the Queen.

Correction to my above post, Len Wein and Dave Cockrum created Storm in 1975 for the anual. Chris took it over in 1976 (but 16 years gives him tenior(sp) so as far as i'm concerned until Len or Dave has something to say, he's still the autority on Storm.) he also wrote her depowerment. however, under his pen i think Storm was the best she could be.

Not sure if any of you have read it, but its the New Fantastic Four... issue where Storm, Black Panther, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm are in space trying to convince Silver Surfer to leave Epoch alone...

Storm gathers the hydrogen atoms... the few that exist in space.. and use that to immobilize then lightning bolt silver surfer...

To me it looked like Surfer was bewildered by an atmosphere seemingly being spontaneously created within a vacuum, stated he thought Epoch was up to something, then Storm appears, states what she's doing, boasts that he's outclassed, sets off a makeshift hydrogen bomb on Surfer (which has little effect) and then, well, the rest is WWE History.
