You're just going to latch on to your false hope aren't you? Unless clarifying something that has already happened, what a writer says doesn't exist in the Marvel universe and isn't canon until it does happen.

I've never posted a writer's opinion as proof of something that could happen in continuity.

That's a foolish practice. At best it makes the opinion an option, not a fact. Storm might do a fission explosion at some point while McDuffie is writing her but what if he leaves and she never does it?

I think you already linked the forum you said you messaged him on then said you emailed him...

I really didn't think much was going to come of that for many reasons. One, it didn't look like Claremont had ever replied to the thread in its lifetime. Two, I was fairly sure he'd agree with his later interview.

You just can't STAND her having a certain level of power but you can extrapolate all the damn day long on Magneto and Polaris with their one-time feats 😆

My stance on Magneto was based on the same metal hurling crap he's been doing since he was first created and I still think Polaris sucks. No extrapolation.

I don't think you understand what official canon means. Until someone does something on a comic, it's not canon. Storm CAN do it, but she never has, so we don't know if she has knowledge of it, thus we can't assume that she can do it. Come back when a writer shows her doing a Hydrogen Bomb in a comic, otherwise you only have talk but nothing to show it.
