wat does that matter ds loses to supes everynow and then and thanos stomps supes like characters or just swats them away like pests and also u talk about ds like he hasn't been depowered. if he is still as tough as ever then why does he loss to top tear characters, i'll tell u y it is becuz he has been depowered since his glory days and thanos would simply stomp his in a current fight. 😎

I do not know much of the DC multiverse, as I am primarily a Marvel fan. So, it is difficult for me to make a final judgment on which would be better, Thanos or Darkseid. That being said, I do have some points to make.
For one, I have seen Darkseid defeated much more embarassingly than Thanos in the cartoons. In Wizkids' heroclix game, the new Thanos figure of Supernova is far stronger than the strongest of the two Darkseid figures. It would seem Wizkids has placed their lot with Thanos.
According to wikipedia, Thanos and Darkseid have virtually the exact same powers except one, Darkseid's Omega beams. However, despite Thanos' being recently killed in the Annihilation series, writer Keith Giffen has insinuated Thanos may become the new Death. If this occurs, this would at the very least canel out the Omega beams if not make Thanos stronger than Darkseid.

The ALE makes the owner one of the most powerful beings in the multiverse as he can literally just tell any living being to give them their power or do his bidding. I do not Think thanos will be the new death. that would ruin the character of death and thanos as well. Thanos has gotten so many power ups and conquered the universe so many times that he has become stale and has nothing left to do.
Again, I find you're writing off Thanos too quickly. Darkseid has those beams, but Thanos is very adept at magic. And Death was last seen standing next to Thanos, both cloaked in black. If Thanos becomes Death or even shares the throne with Death, I think those Omega beams will become useless, considering they effect the material.
