My take?
Better cover the kids ears after I'm done....
First and foremost Thanos is nothing but a cheap rip off of Darkseid. Heck! I think even Jim Starlin admitted he took the idea from Kirby. For years comic book fans knew this but didn't really mind...after all Marvel needed a cosmic villain to compete with DC New Gods.
But as time pass the fans wanted their Thanos to be soooo above everyone else...Marvel device the infamous IG. Which is not a bad story....but really...what was the point of it? To make Thanos more powerful. I mean no disrespect, but when I see these Darkseid vs Thanos debates in other forums...I want to puke. Anyone can see the fanboyism dancing it's ugly head around. I'm going to say this once and once only. If you think I'm bias...well, don't be surprise....
Darkseid created by Jack Kirby.
Thanos created by Jim Starlin.
Jack Kirby>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jim Starlin.

Originally posted by WrathfulDwarfUltimately I mostly agree, but the IG saga is one of the all time greats produced by either Marvel and/or DC IMO.

Originally posted by WrathfulDwarfPretty much everyone on these forums will swiftly admit that there is quite a large bias where Marvel and DC are concerned. That's why in alot of threads, DC characters are highly underestimated..... It can actually get quite sickening at times.

Nothing against Starlin, but compared to something like Kirby's "New Gods".......... Well there isn't much that I would consider better, but that's just my opinion. 😄

Since... you know...

Evidently, whoever wins is based on the better writer... 🙄
There are better ways to decide a fight... and lets face it, this really has nothing to do with this thread.
