Of course, I would have happily taken her place...😉

You and me both! Ah, to be Keira Knightly's understudy....
She pretty much has the same situation in AWE if you really think about it and add Chow Young Fat into the mix. He's just as delectable, in my opinion. 🙂

geeze at age 22 kiera has gotten to kiss Chow yun Fat, Jack Davenport, Orlando Bloom, and the sexiest (in my opinion) of them All johnny depp.😍

I wish i was her if i kissed them it would be with more passion!!! 😄

i'd only care about kissing johnny...you gals can kiss all the other men...

Ha, I still don't know what you mean. I'm a little confused Mina. Explain

Now I'm confused lol. Bah, whatever.

I will cheerfully unburden Jack Davenport from you. Because I think he's by far the sexiest of all the men.

hmm if Johnny only had a clone....*mad scientist mind comes to take over*

Alright, enough people *blows whistle*

You all forget that this is a discussion thread not a beauty pageant thread on who's hotter.

Back on topic.

lmao^^ yes coach mina!!

Honestly Jack deserves a better ending then to chase after the pearl!!

Tnt has said that Johnny is a god well terry said that they will not make Jack a bad ending!!!

Yes, I don't like Jones, I think he had negative qualities all along and the break-up just brought that out in him and twisted him. That's pretty vindictive to have your lover imprisoned just because they spurned your advances or stopped loving you.

Fate plays a big part in these films. It's amazing, very Dickensian, from the way all of their destinies are entwined to the way that their actions seem already determined even though they don't realize it.

I thought it was interesting how the scene order was different in the novelization with the first scene being the heart delivered to the Flying Dutchman and not the hangings in Port Royal or Liz singing.

Did Terry really use the term "correct" to describe who Elizabeth ends up with? It just seems so technical...I thought it was more like they would be won over or understand why...but then again, Liz has already made her choice and fate's just confirmed it.

I think Jack has very complicated feelings toward Elizabeth. On one hand, he loves her, but then again, she killed him and keeps claiming love for Will. So, while he loves her, he wants her to be happy, plus he still has that asumption...and who can blame him when it's proven true again and again...that if he lets anyone close, they will hurt him. Has anyone read the Total Film article where Johnny addresses this?

I'm a bit disappointed that Jack and James don't seem to have any scenes together, they have such great Chemistry.

I think it's cool that Teague is Keeper of the Code.

You know, Liz kissed Jack in the last film and look how well that turned out...

I thought John Smith was more like Jack in Pocahontas since they have more in common in personality and action whereas the one Pocahontas ends up with is the respectable one who truly loves her whereas Joh forgot about her...and in historical fact, probably made the whole rescue up.

Hehe, maybe the child is James...

Jack has a loyal crew now that's literally gone to the ends of the Earth for him unless Barbossa is able to trick them, I doubt they'd willingly betray Jack by letting him take the Pearl without a fight.

I sort of wonder if Tia only brought Barbossa back in order to release her...but then the budget script has that added incentive of Ponce de Leon's journal...

It's an interesting thought to have Tortuga as the one last refuge for pirates although that's also the way Shipwreck Cove was described with the men, their women and the kids running underfoot...kind of nice actually.

Nope, Liz didn't pull away when James kissed her unlike Sao...so Liz didn't mind James kissing her, hehe.

Did anyone read pages 131 and 132 in the novelization?

Ok i saw this in Rotten tomattoes forum Tell me what you guys think....

I have resently read the whole 100 page script for POTC: AWE, and the ending, so this is the writers ruff draft of how it's going to end, if you don't want to spoil the ending, then don't read ahead:

RUFF DRAFT:::

First: The Kraken is dead, killed by Beckett's men. Sao Feng is dead, killed by a cannon ball, and Elizabeth is the new captain of the Empresses. Norrington is dead, killed by Bootstrap Bill. Will betrays Jack for Elizabeth's safty, and joins with Beckett, thought not really on his side (the whole things very confusing so just know that in the final battle, Jack is on the Dutchman, and Will is on the Pearl. Both are on the Pirates side). Governer Swann is dead, killed by Mercer.

In the final battle, Elizabeth is elected Pirate King, as she has yet to make enemies with any of the pirates. She leads them to battle against Beckett's fleet, and Barbossa attempts to summon Calypso. Tia Dalma turns out to be her, and morps into a bunch of crabs that run into the water, and cause the werpool. The Dutchman and Pearl do battle across the werpool, and beat the crap out of each other. Barbossa hastly marries Will and Liz off, ("I now pronounce you... [cannon ball fires past them] Just kiss the bride!!!"😉. Will then stabs the heart, and Davy falls off into the werpool, his last words to Calypso ("I love you"😉. Will then quickly becomes the captain of the newly decursed dutchman, and blasts the hell out of Beckett's ship. The EITC armada retreats. Will gives Elizabeth his heart in the chest, and she promises to be fateful, and every 10 years they will meet as he can step on land only once after 10 years. Will now goes with his father to do what Jones was supposed to do, rescue the souls of dead or dying sailors.

In Totuga, Jack walks along with Gazzel and Scarlett, bragging about the Black Pearl. When he reaches the port however, he sees it drifting off into the sea (NO, not good!). Haha, Barbossa has done it again (again). The crews guilt consiences are but at rest when Barbossa shows them what they're after. Pounce de Lonce's Fountain of Youth. (The're more secrets in these waters, and more than one way to live forever!!!) Jack opens his compass. It points to... A bottle of rum, bobbing on the water (sometimes, it's good to be me.). He drinks this, and makes of after the Pearl in the same kind of boat he made of in his opening scene of 'Curse of the Black Pearl'.

Then the caption: '10 years later...' Elizabeth is standing on the docks of Port Royal, waiting for Will to return. Next to her is a young William Turner jr. (in this case it would be jr.2x). The boy asks if it would be exciting to meet a pirate. She says it would, and begings reciting a song she learnt during her childhood...

"Yo ho, yo ho, a pirates life for me..."

👇 😄

Well, it's freaking old lol. We discussed it already. The writers told us to not pay attention to that. I'm counting on the book (even though I don't have it...yet) and ourselves.

this is a bunch of bull...and if this is how it ends....then I am truly dissapointed in the final chapter of the trilogy....

they are all right back to where they begin...jack hasn't learned anything or developed at all....he is still after the stupid black pearl, a stupid bloody ship...how can a man find happiness in pursing a ship...that's just ......please excuse me while I puke....

Yes, Terry did use the term "most correct choice" to describe who ELizabeth ends up with.

He said that one side, will join the other in applauding the "most correct choice." So it's not really as clinical as you're making it, I think. What I think he means is that the choice will make sense with the information we're given. That one side cannot possibly be an option given the circumstances that surround it.

No, I haven't read the article about Johnny's take on Jack's character. Can you find it? I'd be interested in reading it 🙂

And you're right about Jack's feelings. He's going to conceal as much as he can about his emotions, and his plans because he's been betrayed so often by those people he trusts. His major struggle in AWE will be to reveal his vulnerable side (which is his good self).

Since he was mutiny in the first movie and was killed in the second movie.

Dammit, I can't find it online, if you have a Barnes and Nobles, it should be there. It has Jack Sparrow on the cover, you can't miss it. He says something like Jack being cautious and as far from Lizzie as can be.

I did find Terry's post:
If a story like this is done properly, which is to say if a love triangle is done properly, then, yes, there SHOULD be a division of the fans, because that proves that both sides of the triangle play as legit. (For you Jack Davenport fans, that would be a pyramid).
The way it (ideally) would (then) play out is, as the events of the third movie come to a climax, those events further inform the fans as to the most correct choice, so by the very end, half of the fandom has changed their minds, and come to agree with and join the other half -- and so no one is disappointed.

Well of course he's going to be as far away from her as he can be. She exploited his affections, which ran deeper than she knew. Jack's trust once betrayed is not easily won back. However, it's telling that even though she left him to die, he's not willing to sacrifice her. So, in DMC, he played his affections close to the vest, not giving away that he cared more than he was showing but the moment he returned to the Pearl that changed. It was as much declaration as Jack could make. However, since she betrayed him, he's going to play his emotions even closer to the vest, even though nothing has changed. That becomes evident in the scene where Jack is traded to Beckett. So yeah, he's going to wonder if Elizabeth is going stick a knife in his back if he shows too much of what he's feeling. It's a tough place to be in really.

And yes, that was the quote I was thinking of from Terry, thanks for finding it 🙂 At the risk of striking my J/E colors, I'm going to engage in the age old pirate tradition: Fight, to run away.

In other words, I have my opinions on who the most correct choice will be given the circumstances, but to avoid all in all war, I'm going to take a page from the book of Jack and..."RUN!"

in agreement there...to avoid shipping...i know what the most correct choice is based of how the movie climaxes...and i'm like you savvy..."Run"......

I think liz doesn't know that Jack really cares for her i mean she wasn't thinking what he ws feeling when he cames back to the pearl she was too busy lusting and planning to give a thought. Also she was confused to why Jack wanted to save her and the pearl she was bloody confused she has no idea Jacks feelings and Will he has and idea i think he knows which to me is a good thing because my theory and alot of peoples theorys is will giving Jack his blessing to take care of Elizabeth for him.

I think Elizabeth thought that all thing Jack said to her at the 'marriage' and the persuade me scene were lie.She told him on Isla de Crices:'Every word you said was a lie.'Jack said'Pretty much.'(meaning :noteverithing he said was a lie). But atafter she kissed him and shackled him to the mast,an said 'pirate to her',but didn't hurt her with his words, but looked at her with so much love, she realized he has deeper feelings for her and it shocked her.
IMO in AWE she will think that maybe Jack hates her for what she did,but I hope in the end they realize their true feelings. 🙂
