The Admiral's Lover
Yes, I don't like Jones, I think he had negative qualities all along and the break-up just brought that out in him and twisted him. That's pretty vindictive to have your lover imprisoned just because they spurned your advances or stopped loving you.
Fate plays a big part in these films. It's amazing, very Dickensian, from the way all of their destinies are entwined to the way that their actions seem already determined even though they don't realize it.
I thought it was interesting how the scene order was different in the novelization with the first scene being the heart delivered to the Flying Dutchman and not the hangings in Port Royal or Liz singing.
Did Terry really use the term "correct" to describe who Elizabeth ends up with? It just seems so technical...I thought it was more like they would be won over or understand why...but then again, Liz has already made her choice and fate's just confirmed it.
I think Jack has very complicated feelings toward Elizabeth. On one hand, he loves her, but then again, she killed him and keeps claiming love for Will. So, while he loves her, he wants her to be happy, plus he still has that asumption...and who can blame him when it's proven true again and again...that if he lets anyone close, they will hurt him. Has anyone read the Total Film article where Johnny addresses this?
I'm a bit disappointed that Jack and James don't seem to have any scenes together, they have such great Chemistry.
I think it's cool that Teague is Keeper of the Code.
You know, Liz kissed Jack in the last film and look how well that turned out...
I thought John Smith was more like Jack in Pocahontas since they have more in common in personality and action whereas the one Pocahontas ends up with is the respectable one who truly loves her whereas Joh forgot about her...and in historical fact, probably made the whole rescue up.
Hehe, maybe the child is James...
Jack has a loyal crew now that's literally gone to the ends of the Earth for him unless Barbossa is able to trick them, I doubt they'd willingly betray Jack by letting him take the Pearl without a fight.
I sort of wonder if Tia only brought Barbossa back in order to release her...but then the budget script has that added incentive of Ponce de Leon's journal...
It's an interesting thought to have Tortuga as the one last refuge for pirates although that's also the way Shipwreck Cove was described with the men, their women and the kids running underfoot...kind of nice actually.
Nope, Liz didn't pull away when James kissed her unlike Sao...so Liz didn't mind James kissing her, hehe.
Did anyone read pages 131 and 132 in the novelization?
