Okay, I'm just popping in for a visit and am just looking at pictures and analysis, so I'm just throwing this out there with no spoiler knowledge (except that I know about the whole rumor with the kid...don't like that one bit).
The picture with Gibbs and Jack kind of high-5ing each other? My thoughts are that this is Port Royal, not Tortuga. We only see Tortuga at night for a simple reason: it's grittier as someone said earlier, and it's trashy. Port Royal is supposed to be a fairly decent town that's just a litle inept at capturing pirates. Jack could easily make a stop here that wouldn't result in his arrest. It's not like he's getting distracted with stealing a ship/rescuing anyone at the moment. The prostitutes following him there would make sense. If something catastrophic has happened to Tortuga, they need to go somewhere where a lot of men are and back then, I think the ratio of men to women in the Caribbean was like 5:1.
As for what's happening, this could be mid-movie. What it LOOKS like is that there is a definite reason Jack and Gibbs have come to Port Royal and they're about to execute a plan. Remember they toasted each other in COTBP, so this high5 would be the same kind of thing.
Next picture: Gibbs with the strumpets (can we spell it Strumpettes, like they're a chick band? never mind) and Jack looking in the opposite direction. To me, this looks like they've come to bother Jack and Gibbs is shooing them away as Jack either thinks or sees something that demands his attention. I don't think Gibbs is going off with them to go have a threesome. It looks like he's getting rid of them and one or both probably just slapped Jack, so that would make him turn, and then an idea or an image would cross his mind. Just my thoughts.

Now, here's something else someone mentioned. Apparently, the scene where a certain badie gets snuffed is also included in the trailer. It's the shot of the ETTC flag burning. There is supposedly something in the background. Can you find it?
Underneath the flag should be the interesting part if it's the scene I'm thinking of...but I looked again and I'm not sure you can see anyo...thing.

But WE DID SEE TORTUGA DURING THE DAY!!!!
Sorry, but I just get upset at inaccuracy...
"Does "long pork" ring a bell? Or "Sure as the tides, Jack Sparrow will turn up in Singapore."? Where did you think Will was?

"Does "long pork" ring a bell? Or "Sure as the tides, Jack Sparrow will turn up in Singapore."? Where did you think Will was?"-----Ericadawn
"What? You expected some happy ending where Will is a blacksmith again and Liz, his dutiful wife?"-----same person
What the hell? Are you jumping on me? Okay, we saw bits of Tortuga during the day. I cheerfully withdraw that argument I made. My main point is that it looks more like Port Royal to me than Tortuga and there could be a dozen reasons why they're there.
Uh, sorry, but Will and Liz married and living at Port Royal is not what I think the ending should be and I think if you go back and look at just about every post I make, I'm a huge J/E shipper and we've had conversations about them. I think someone is a little snippy today.
No I don't think it's PortRoyal either. There was something T&T said when u go back to the base, the place where the story starts in general u creat a sense of going back. Story wise.
Now COTBP was an individule but DMC and AWE are conected so no sense in going to PR again unless clips of Norri or Becket are shown
Sorry, it wasn't just you...it's just everything in general, it got to me and I'm sorry.
I knew you were a JE shipper and that's also what I didn't get about you guys being convinced that it was Port Royal because why would Liz go back there if she has Jack? Why would the film go back there anyway? Port Royal is a place of decency and restriction and every character in the film has outgrown that or died.
I think we'll see Port Royal in the very beginning of the film, but after everyone goes out to sea, I doubt we'll ever go back there.
If there's one thing I think we can all agree on, it's that Will and Elizabeth could never go back to Port Royal. They wouldn't want to, for one thing, and there's really nothing there for them any longer. But that doesn't mean that they couldn't go back for some other reason. I dunno, I guess we'll have to wait and see. 😄
I'm not saying 100% that it's not PR but I don't think the story should go there unless they present a very important plot point. The they'd have to go. Unless that happens I think it'll only make the story go backwards.
As in : there's no time for them to go to PR unless it's helps the goal. THIs story is about the berthern. And the location will be mainly focused on Singapore so...
just my opinion but as I said. If it's plot accurate then it's highly possible.
