I know. I'm just curious if AWE will be clearer about Jack's past. I know Teage, father or not, will give the audience insight about Jack.

But I'm quiet positive that Beckette and Tia were working together. I used to defend Tia in thinking she wasn't. But she is using both sides.

What makes you think so, Chiki? Explain, elaborate, enlighten.

Ok, I have strong reasons on why Tia was working with Beckette and using both sides.

My theory, with Jack's past, is that Tia betrayed him in the past and possibly tried to kill him. Maybe similar to what Liz this but alot more difference in a sense that Jack may felt something... I'm not doing shippy wars, just in case you guys think so.

JACK
Why should I sail with any of you? Four of you have tried to kill me in the past.
(he gets to Elizabeth)
One of you succeeded.

Will is startled. Jack notices.

JACK (cont'd)
She hasn't told you? Then you'll have lots to talk about while you're here.
(to Tia Dalma)
As for you --

TIA DALMA
Oh, don't tell me you didn't enjoy it at the time.

JACK
That's fair. All right, you're in.

Maybe Im way off, but I think Tia tricked Jack and handed him to Beckette. She is a voodoo chick. She probably knew in doing so, Beckette would burn the Pearl and that would cause Jack to call Davy.

Anyone here?! Savvy, willo, kate, surreal? *pulls hair*

ok well, i like what your think and it maybe a deffonite possibility but im not sure, why would tia give jack up like that?

And why wouldn't Beckett recover his "property" at that point?

Well, the why is in her theory. I think Chiki is of the mind that in order to get what she wants in the future, Tia Dalma has to set Jack up in the past. Remember that Tia can essentially see the future. What's to prevent her from using that knowledge to her advantage.

By betraying him to Beckett and having him burn the Pearl, that requires Jack to make a deal with Jones. If Tia knows the deal, and knows that sometime in Jack's life he'll eventually have to repay the debt, then she can figure out a way to escape her fleshy prison, get Will to stab the heart and finally live with the love of her life. I think that's where Chiki is going.

I'm not sure that Tia is in league with Beckett persay. She may be manipulating him along with the others in order to get what she wants. I understand the theory. If Tia Dalma has the power to see the future, what's to stop her from using her powers illresponsibly?
Nothing, she's a goddess. She can do what she wants.

She is in no one's side. She is just manipulating both Beckette and the pirates. I'm not sure if I should label her as an evil woman, but she isn't a saint either. She is just using her way out in manipulating people.

I personally think she is a little pissed with the pirates for improsining her, and with Davy after granting him immortality to torture the souls instead of rescuing.

I don't know how to answer that in a way that won't sound silly in my part. But how does Beckette know about the compass and about the chest?

see that i have NO IDEA either but getting Will and Elizabeth arrested in dmc obviously has something to do with getting it from jack, otherwise there would no REAL reason to have them arrested

Well, like any good super villain bent on world domination and hostile take over, he's done his research. He's had dealings with Jack in the past, which means that he probably knew Jack after he'd gotten the compass from Tia Dalma.

Actually, the best question here is how does Beckett know about the chest? How could he possibly know when Jack himself didn't really even know. He had to go to Tia Dalma for help with that one.

Hmmmm, maybe you are really onto something Chiki. The only problem I have with the theory is why would she work with a man who wants to essentially harness her powers to gain domination over the seas? Wouldn't that be against her best interest? Or maybe she doesn't care anymore.

I know where you're going with that question. Because of Beckette, the pirates had to turn Calypso into human. But wait, actually, the main reason was because she was all powerful and had the water and waves all out of control. But part of the reason was so Beckette won't use her to get to Davy. So Beckette knew about the chest. I'm starting to remember now, clearly.

But, to answer your question, Tia knows what she's doing. I'm not sure if Beckette knows if that's Calypso in desguise. But I have a feeling that Beckette came to Tia to find Jack before DMC could happen.

Pure speculation..I'm not sure.

Going back to the Jack/Tia relationship, maybe we're not reading the "I thought I knew you" exchange as we should.

Jack: I thought I knew you.
Tia: Not as well as I'd hoped.

Maybe in some weird way, this isn't about sex, but more about just knowing how she'd act in certain situations. Maybe somehow screwing him over to Beckett was supposed to be a challenge and instead of outsmarting her, he fell for it and she decided he wasn't worth her time as a lover.

Going back a couple pages, hehe, he doesnt have his hat in his hand, he has a cup.

I never thought it was sex. Maybe, or maybe not. But I don't think so.

He thought he and Tia were close

Thick as theives, nigh inseperable we are...were..been..

I didn't think it was necessarily sex either, but the way they word their conversation, they're both playing with innuendo. It implies Jack was a bad lover to her. I don't think she found him challenging enough, if you can believe that.

If there was sex, then she just wanted to seduce him into bed to use him as her personal puppet lol.

But I know they have a past together. And I know she tried to kill him.

Oh yeah, they slept together. I think up until recently Jack would sleep with about anything. I'm pretty sure Tia's the same way...although she might give that all up for a certain blacksmith. I do wonder how Tia tried to kill him and why. Ties with Beckett would make sense.

Well, there is something from the script though. I know you don't like spoilers 😉 *covers mouth*

But I bet Beckette found out about the Compass from Tia. This woman pretends to be on your side, when in reality, she is just using you for her own needs.

She is not evil, but she is not to be trusted.

I like spoilers!

😄

I'm going to bed. I have midterm first thing tomorow morning.

Night! Keep the faith! Kumbaya! 😄
