I don't think Iron Fist belongs in the top tier. He seems to be regarded as a joke by other heroes. Most heroes seem to believe they can take him on as well.

I don't think using his tendrils well is a sign of martial arts skill. I mean, then we should put Ock up there as well, because he's got some real skill with his tentacles.

Though he has some decent hand to hand skills, I don't think he's as good as the likes of Ares. I mean, Ares has mastered using every weapon on the planet. How awesome is that?

As she lacks any real powers to fight with the only possible way for her to win against people like Thanos or Terrax would be with some manner of preternatural skill at fighting.

No way. Iron fist only gets his top tier rank because he's proclaimed by some (and himself) to be one of the top 3 fighters in Marvel Earth. However, his feats pale to Cap, DD and BP. Often times he is forced to rely on his IF, instead of just toughing out a fight (like the punisher) or changing strategy (like cap). Taking away the his Iron fist, he would only be second tier.
