I think that you hit the nail on the head in part b of your reply. But I would take it a step further and propound that many (not some) of the truths revealed in Scripture are very (not rather) undesirable because the Bible exposes us for who we truly are. The Bible tells us (without making any apologies, softsoaking the situation, or mitigating it) that we are all unrighteous, that we are sinners, that all of our righteousness (i.e. good works) are like filthy rags, that we are spiritually dead, that we are Hell-bound, and that we need Jesus Christ in order to be saved from all of these realities.
So basically, we suck at life....nice message. I'd like to think the good things I do actually mean something but whatever.

That "response" had nothing to do with the post of mine you quoted.Salam alaikum to you too.
How can you respect a religion founded by a man who raped a little girl and murdered innocent people? Can't you see that Islam and the Qur'an is inspired by the devil?
Fact: Jesus Christ never raped or murdered anyone.
Fact: Jesus Christ allowed Himself to be murdered for everyone.

Didn't he also turn Lot's wife into salt.
Our Lord has quite the death count...some infanticide here and there also...all those Egyptian first borns...

That apology might come off as terribly self-depricating in your mind. But, to me, it sounds like self-serving apologetics. (As though there is any other kind)See, I'm certain of my ability and intellect, which is inherently arrogant. The problem for you with my perspective is that I expect the same from you. But at every turn you demonstrate the opposite.
How about your response to this post be what you find "hard to swallow" about your own religion, rather than what you seem to willingly swallow without a hint of personal though? Certainly if Mother Theresa could do it you can too? What issues, if any, do you have with your own faith? What questions must keep you up at night; what leaps in logic between scripture and your faith make you wonder? Or will you disappear for a few days until my question is forgotten by most of the people participating in this thread?
What issues do I have with my faith? Nothing that my faith will not see me through. I know this might come off as hairsplitting but I do not have a religion (no believer in Jesus Christ does). What I have is a personal relationship with God (YHWH) through His Son Jesus Christ. I walk with God (i.e. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) in a faith-based relationship. I wish I could travel back and forth to Heaven everyday to see the Father, the Lord Jesus, and other saints. It would be nice if everything that I prayed for came to pass immediately instead of having to wait. What questions keep me up at night? None. What leaps in logic between Scripture and my faith make me wonder? How the Bible could be given by inspiration of God and at the same time be written by human instruments. Disappear? Again, I cannot answer every question posed to me by the masses (I need a secretary).

I have a few of those...

You are comparing apples with AK-47s. God is not subject to the same restrictions as humans are. God (YHWH) has the right to take life because He is the One Who created it. God does not procreate life as we do (there is a huge difference). Procreation is not creation it is cooperation with an established law that God (YHWH) has previously put into force. We do not create life or give life we are simply beneficiaries and participants in the process that produces life. In addition, God (YHWH) is the Judge of all flesh and reserves the right to pull the plug on anyone at anytime by simply withdrawing His breath of life.
There are those whom God (YHWH) has placed in authority who have the power to take lives as well. Those whose crimes are so heinous that death is the only proper sentence for them. Their criminal conduct warrants their demise. They have reaped what they have sown (literally).
Mohammed did not have the right to take the lives that he took because he is not the Creator. I believe that murder is unlawful killing, so to rape and kill somoeone people simply cause they will not convert to your satanically inspired religion is unjust, evil, inexcusable, and sinful.

What about instances where people did the same thing in God's name?

No, I don't see it as splitting hairs. I see it as you not answering the question because this little persona you're playing doesn't actually have any to offer.
Saints? I was unaware that non-catholics had much use for saints. I'm not sayiing it's a crack in your make-up, I'm just saying....
You have a personal relationship with baby Jesus? Well, what does he say to you? Do you actually hear his voice? Do you get junk email from him? A christmas card?
I'm affraid the masses don't have many questions for you and when they do you don't answer them. You don't need a secretary, you need a shrink. Or better yet just go ahead and fulfill that desire to meet Jesus in person.
If you're praying to go to heaven there's something you could do to make it happen if you don't want to wait for fate to take it's course. I heard Jesus was really looking forward to seeing you too. Make it happen or you'll go to hell for disappointing him.

There is no compulsion in religion.

Sure it does. I know you do not see it that way but it is the truth. It is called divine right. Just look at the human right that butchers and cattlemen exercise over livestock. Have you ever wondered why they go around killing animals and selling their carcasses to restuarants and retailers all over the United States? Who gives them that right? How dare they kill an animal for food. I don't really feel this way I am just trying to communicate the point that humans have the right to kill animals for food--because God (YHWH) said so. But God (YHWH) reserves the right to end all life because He is the one who gave it in the first place.
He was one of those "whom God (YHWH) has placed in authority who have the power to take lives as well".
What god, Allah? God (YWHW) did not give Mohammed anything because Mohammed doesn't even know YHWH. He might know Allah (the god of the Qur'an) but he does not know the God of the Bible. YHWH is the personal name of the God of the Bible. Allah is the personal name of the idol of the Qur'an, but this idol is not alive, is not triune, and does not have a son. The God of the Bible (YHWH) is living, triune, and does have a Son. So, Mohammed did not get any permisson from the God of the Bible to wage jihad on anyone--he did that on his own accord in response to the inspiration of his father the devil (who is also the founder of Islam and the author of the Qur'an).
What about instances where people did the same thing in God's name?
Those people thought that they were doing God (YHWH) a service but they were not. They were misguided and deceived. There were times when God did sanction systematic annihilation of nations, but this was because the people were evil beyond imagination. These people were burning their children alive to their false, non-living, gods (i.e. idols). God (YHWH) did not want His people to adopt the practices of those heathens who were sinful beyond reform.

I really don't appreciate your tone. I answered your post in good faith because you asked me to and you reward me with sarcasm and disrespect? And you wonder why I don't jump at the opportunity to respond to any of your posts. You are just plain rude and uncivil. I apologize if this offends you but it needed to be said so that we can continue to correspond respectfully in the future.
Ah, but see, I don't care what you think about my tone.
You answered nothing. You decided to say that this character you're playing has never questioned anything about his own religion. That's not the morals or practice of an upstanding person who is secure in his faith. That kind of person would have answers to my question. As it is though, you're not that kind of person.
I don't wonder why you don't answer my questions. I know why you don't. It's because you're not 100% comitted to this character you're playing. You don't have to apologize. Nothing you have to say to me offends me. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the day when I respect you, either. But feel free if you're in such a rush to meet Jesus.
