This sort of thing happens all the time. Doesn't have to be logical. Half of things that candidates say do not make sense at all when put in context. The voting public is full of saps. They know what they see on TV and that is as far as it goes often times.

Do you seriously think some politician will state that for the safety of Americans all Korean immigrant students (or all immigrant students) should be labeled/watched and people of sound mind will agree? There will be no spin nor major attention to the fact that he was a Korean immigrant. Sure the few racist hee-haws will spout of here and there, but nothing will come of it.

Look, all countries all full of it in some capacity. In America, there is the "One Percent Doctrine" in which if you are even suspected by 1 percent to be a terrorist, it is ok to lock you up without evidence, just supscion. Because of the possibility of terrorism, the government allows for bugs to be placed anywhere they see fit before they get a warrant. Once they get the evidence they seek, they can then ask for a warrant and arrest you. Kinda backwards huh? There are all sorts of lies and assorted logic being spewed everyday.

I chose my uni choices on where they were, what nightlife etc. Maybe that's just where he wanted to go. Or maybe it's the best he could get into with his grades.
