How did you like Part 3?

I thought Beckett's dying was the only worth while part of this film!

I agree so much how much AWE reminded me of Titanic, you have no idea, along with Braveheart so it was like my top favoutrite movies all in one! Loved loved loved loved it! Treasure it forever!

Bwa ha ha: I apologize. I'm running on about three hours of sleep in 48 hours. I lost track. 😛 I put Gov. Swann on the list twice because I can't count, apparently.

Sorry!

Jacksweet I'm sorry J/E didn't work out, but the movie wasn't all bad. But honestly...Elizabeth killed Jack. Did you think that after the horrible death he suffered and the horrible after-life he suffered he was going to just throw his arms around her and forgive her?

He went through an awful lot BECAUSE of her (not really for her), so I don't think it would have been logical for him to be all lovey dovey with her.

Jack's scenes are strange because he was driven insane by the Locker. You want to blame someone for his craziness, blame Elizabeth; she sent him there. Anyway, I hope that you go see the film again and try to enjoy it the second time around. There's a lot of sweetness between Jack and Elizabeth, you just have to look for it. 😄

EDIT TO ADD: Bruce Leeroy: I disagree with your take on Will's story arc. You mis-characterize it; it's no wonder you dislike it so much.

Try again on your analysis of Will. 😛 I think the only thing you got correct was that Will is a blacksmith and is a good swordsman.

well Surreal , honestly i must say i tried to think about it after the premiere THIS way you mentioned (like she killed him..)...but it didn´t work really...

Coz i saw love in his sight with every look he gave her i saw he loves her, still after all and yes you can tell i´m stupid but i think there are some people who see it this way as me too!!!.....
And btw he had even tears in his eyes when governor swann died and barbossa noticed it as well and do not tell me he cried coz one gov. died it was because he felt really really very sorry for elizabeth and this surely didn´t mean he is still pissed at her or whatever coz she killed him and blah,blah...this scene made me think he changed his mind with her right in this scene...
And i don´t know why (😈) but i didn´t saw tears or something like tears in WILL´s eyes...
Well he may loves her yeah i know but he has now his father on his mind and we know elizabeth isn´t on his mind in awe even though he loves her and ends up with her...BUT jack, jack didn´t ended up with her, didn´t kiss her, didn´t even get much near her, and he didn´t get a chance to somehow show her his love and yes you can tell me, till i die, that he just doesn´t love her i know it isn´t true coz every movie shows it,shows me that he loves her- but i must also say that elizabeth did not feel the same way like jack even though she really loves him but probably she loved will better... And this was it probably...
But NOTHING will make me love this movie no way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😠 coz i just didn´t like it and not just because jack and elizabeth i kind of accepted that fact this relationship didn´t get a chance to be IN THE MOVIE 😉 yeah (just a sparrabether, can´t help it) I think i agree 100% with everything katelovespirate wrote about this movie, really agree with everything...
...and i hate a way jack ended up...

Same here... they should at least end with Jack on HIS ship, not with Barbossa with JACK'S ship.

and the Funny thing is that Im not sure Beckett is even dead...we just saw a body fall onto an EITC flag and thats it.....He could very well still be alive and if there is a 4th maybe they may even bring him back!

You've no idea how badly this pisses me off. Beckett was my favorite, followed by Barbossa and Norrington. Apparently Beckett is super-evil in AWE.

Ahhhhh PirateDiva, I worship your signature, it's perfect! Swaan and Sparrow - flying! I'd never of thought of that, lol. Sparrabeth ... anyway absolutely fantastic movie! Can only whinge about the Calypso growing idea, all my friends who have seen it agree. Little bit to far-fetched, other than that - I'd be happy to know that was the only movie I could wach for the rest of my life.

^^ Why Thank YoU Darlin!! Mina Made the Siggy and i came up with the quote...lol!! Not sure if it makes sense....but since Davy said Jack was a bird who never learned how to fly....and then we see Jack save Liz by flying (parachuteing whatever) lol....I Liked it..lol!!

I didn't see the movie until YESTERDAY, so I've been avoiding this forum. 🙂

Personally, I didn't like 3 as much as 1 and 2. The middle was cool, and so was the beginning, but worst ending EVER. Not only because she ended up with Will. But he only gets to see her ONCE every 10 years?
Complaints:
No J/E (suddenly all that stuff in 2 doesn't matter, and Jack refused that kiss- couldn't they give us ONE major Sparrabeth moment?), all W/E
Norrington dies
Her father dies
So much failed humor
Completely hard to follow plot
Subtly making fun of Indians at one part
Elizabeth a pirate KING? How about Queen?

Take it this scene never made the final cut? This is after Will betrays Jack and Jack plans to get him and everyone killed exxxeepppttt 😛 (this is from the earlier script I have BTW before the final script)

INT. ENDEAVOUR - CAPTAIN'S CABIN - DAY

JACK
You can have Barbossa. The belligerent homunculus and his friend with the wooden eye, both. And Turner. Especially Turner.

Beckett notes that, suspicion behind his eyes.

BECKETT
And what becomes of Miss Swann?

JACK
The rest go with me aboard the Pearl, and I will lead you to Shipwreck Cove. Do we have an accord?

Jack extends his hand. Beckett smiles at it.

BECKETT
Jack, remember, I have this wonderful compass that points to whatever I want.

JACK
Points to what you want most. And that's not the Bretheren Court, is it?

BECKETT
No? Then what is, Jack?

JACK
Me.
(long beat)
Dead.

e gestures to the compass: try it. Beckett opens the compass. From his reaction, it points to Jack. Jack scuttles sideways. From Beckett's reaction, the needle follows him.

It did sorta. He asked about Liz I think. Then they said something else.. I think 😄

They didn't have all of it but they definitely had Jack saying, "Me...dead."

Oh, the Speckett...I loved it.

Ewww lol He got so close to his face.

they did have that scene.....But Beckett asks "And What of Miss Swan?" then Jack asks " What is she to you?"

Also i keep meaning to mention it but i keep forgetting...I swear i almost cried when right after the waterfall and it goes Pitch Black....they play voice Bits from the Pirates of the Caribbean Ride at Disneyland!! I thought that was a very unique touch and an awsome way to incorporate the ride even more to the movie!!! I Loved That and as a Fan of the Ride I appreciated that very much!! Thanks Disney!!!

they obviously changed the lines though to make it look as if Jack didnt care about her.
the other one suggests he cares about her and doesnt want any harm to come to her despite her killing him.

i agree lovelyone.....even in the leaked script there was a hint that Jack cared for her!

You know what i also heard? I heard that all the actors had different points of view of HOW the movie should end! I heard that Johnny wanted it one way, Gore wanted it another way, the writers had written it a different way, and Keira and Orlando had their own opinions too! I heard that teamwork for the ending wasnt all that great because everyone was trying to go in different directions!

Has anyone else heard this or can confirm it?

Boy oh boy. Everyone should just shut up and listen to Johnny hehe hehe

Agreed! Though can I be honest? I think for a JE ending Keira's opinion was more important. she was the omly real shipper.

The thing is I don't think Johnny would've wanted Elizabeth for Jack. It didn't fit his perspective of the chracter. although they had a chemistrey even the critics couldn't ignore. Here's a part of a review:

Three films into what could be a very long run (as long as the box office holds up and the actor remains interested), Depp has found his alter-ego's skin to be a comfortable fit. He's a little less flip this time around, but he still has a good one-liner or two reserved for special occasions. Kiera Knightley continues the ascendancy she began in Dead Man's Chest, evolving from damsel in distress to full-fledged pirate and swordswoman. Is there anything sexier than a woman with a naked blade? Sadly, her sparkling chemistry with Depp is absent this time around - the two say no more than a handful of words to each other. Orlando Bloom has grown into his role. Finally, Will Turner has becomes something a little more interesting than a one-dimensional hero type. There's a little Han Solo in this Luke Skywalker.

anyways despite their chemistrey I think Johnny made it clear in his commentary in COTBP that he doesn't think they fit eachother and I respect that. I understand how he sees the character and their relationship

Doesn't make me see this any differently but ..I'm just saying I think the only ship Johnny is sailing on is Jack's! Now if they'd left it to him I think Jack would have a much more SATISFYING ending.

LovelyOne, regarding all the cut 'Sparrabethiness' from the script, I think that it was done to take Jack in a new and unusual direction. I don't believe that the 'multiple jacks' were carried throughout any of the leaked scripts (I'll have to double-check that to be sure), but what they wanted to do with Jack, whichi s so interesting to me, is to have him still suffering the effects of being in the Locker.

Having him retain that madness and suffering from being in the Locker was a brilliant move and made Jack Sparrow interesting to me (finally!). A lot of relationship stuff was cut, not just of Sparrabethiness, but more development of Will and Jack's relationship as well (slightly disappointing for me. I wanted to see Jack and Will brawl).

Go see the movie; while it may not have exactly what you're wanting or expecting for Sparrabeth, there is plenty of beauty and depth to make the film truly enjoyable.

I'm going to see the movie for the 7th or 8th time tonight, and I'll finally finish up my review and put it up. 😄
