Superman and Thor "fought" twice.
Once when they were talking and Superman and the JLA were accusing the Avengers of being bad guys. Then Thor hits Superman with his hammer. Then Thor threw his hammer shutting up Superman. The nthey do not fight again that entire fight.
The only true confrontation they had was towards then end of JLA/Avengers 2
In which they were standing right in front of each other and then they start to fight.
They so a few panels of them swapping hits then we see Superman getting put through a bunch of trees on his back. Thor is standing in front basically saying Superman isn't in his league in combat. Then Superman unloads on Thor with a full on blast of HV. Thor then commences to walk through it. He only losses his shirt.
Then Superman catches Thor's hammer and hits Thor after he finished walking through the HV.
Then Supes goes onto that is the toughest foe he has fought. Then Wonderman, Hercules, Wonderman, and Ironman commence to beat down Superman.
Afterwards they both are KOed and the JLA are afraid Superman is dead. 😛

Superman is clearly stronger than Thor, and only a willingly ignorant fool would claim otherwise at this point.
When he cuts loose he's warping reality with the force of his punches and stalemates Pre-Crisis Kryptonians. Thor, Bill, Gladiator-- none of them have anything on par with that.

Physical strength is up for interpretation. However overall raw power and versatility are not.
I dislike when people make debatable claims with little knowledge of the character or characters at hand. 🙁

Superman generaly has greater feats, has a more dynamic strength factor, and has grown steadily more and more powerful across the board since the Byrne years, when he was STILL clearly a rival to Thor for strength. He's gotten stronger and stronger, and has the abililty to fluctuate his physical stats to a degree that Thor cannot even remotely claim. JLA/Avengers is continuity, and Superman proved to be stronger than Thor, conclusively.
Only only legitimate question regarding Thor and Superman isn't who is stronger, which has been apparently and blatant for years now, but how much stronger than Thor Superman actually is.
Anything other than that is wishful thinking and blatant delusional denial.

Oh, I feel I'm threatened now. By the way, It's "guarantee", not
"garantee".
Greater feats are solely up for personal interpretation. Hence the reason I've never claimed either was stronger than the other due to the fact that there strength lv's are so ridiculously contiguous that placing one above the other would oftentimes subconsciously be dictated by our personal biased.
Who's stronger doesn't much matter considering strength wouldn't be the deciding factor in a match up between the two.
