Willobeth

I cheerfully deflect said tomatoes with a high sweeping kick--either ballerina like or Karate kid crane dance--as if that were humanly possible in this little body, even a long time ago.

So pleased you remembered the name of the flick--wouldn't have come up in my brain for a while. And I really did sorta think it was in the topic ballpark becos of the intimate relationship between the kid(oh trick, he was fictional, chuck was real) and Chuck Norris; then there's goofy me and my utter devotion to my imaginary friends--the nicest thing about it is my flesh and blood friends don't tease me about the others, they don't buy cutesy lunchboxes with bizarre characterizations on them, and they know I know the diff. kinda like having really indulgent parents who are patient enough not to say I'm going through a "phase".
so, thanks--and now, back to the sad part of Willobeth.

I really, me personally, rather like to just think about the kissing parts of Willobeth and the swash, swash, buckle, buckle, (OB). Oh, and how fabulous Will and Elisabeth look wet, how fabulous they look together wet & kissing--how delighted either of them can look at the moment they discover the presence of the other and they are about to kiss. Oh, and how they have this tendency to cling to each other after they kiss. Oh, and there's when Will wants to kiss Elisabeth really desperately desires to do this and they get incredibly close to one another, and, and (thump~thump, thump~thump) then they pull away abruptly, look everywhere in the world except at each other becos they know how much they wanted to kiss one another. Oh, and Elisabeth's bosum rising and falling like the tides in Nova Scotia (hugely largish tides, I'm told) while Will is contemplating oh, squid guts or something to control his breathing!

You know, this is a long bit of baloney, but dadblame--so much joy in the watching of the love story--so much life in the young ones--yes sadness, yes, pain, yes separation--all parts of the same story and All are True. But the kissing and swashing and the buckling....Elisabeth looking at Will and knowing his plan for the Kracken, like hey do it every day. Her total joy, when they have dug up the chest and then she sees Will, compass pointing totally forgotten. Oh, and they 😊 😊 🏴‍☠️ 😍 kisskiss. Yeah, life is piratlicious--means otay!

lol are you hyper?

I to enjoy the about to kiss, maybe not moments. I liked the one in CotBP when jack comes up after and tells him that was the opportune moment. You'd think he'd learn?

I think so! I really think he did. Barbossa didn't have tell him again to kiss her he snatched the oppertune moment and went for it.

Don't you kind of HAVE to kiss the bride? I meant he didn't learn because he didn't kiss her in prison or at first on the beach scene.

Yea verily I'm as hyper most days as two weasels drinking expresso shots.
Yes, it's tradish to kiss the bride, same with over the threshold.
Yes, I think he learned too, the 1st opportune moment was just crushing becos they didn't kiss. (I attribute that to Jack rattling the silverware.)
Oh, Miz Swann--the beach scene.....we was at the tail end of that particular party, we weren't coming, (ahem) we were agoing.
Now as the prison scene...I just don't know--Elisabeth sure put her thoughts out there even though her daddy was standing less than 5 feet away. I would have thought for sure....

Ah, but kissing is delightful--according to Tom Robbins, Still Life with Woodpecker--kissing encourages women to suffer civilization. Kissing is sweet. And...Will and Elisabeth are cute kissers and kissees. Yep of this I am certain.

Hyper is good! Yay Pixie stix! Woo yes!

Willabeth is sweet kisses. (The name that is not spoken of in this thread) is hot kisses!

For some reason, (and I'm a sparrabether so forgive that) I think the hottest interaction between Will and Liz occurs at the beginning of DMC when they have the bars between them and their faces keep coming closer to each other and you think they'll kiss but they don't. It always creates more longing when the couple doesn't kiss.

Keep in mind I knew nothing about DMC when I went to see it the first time and expected a neat and tidy willabeth relationship much like the first movie. Was fine with that. But I didn't get excited or hot under the collar watching them together. And then in DMC, they interlock their fingers and lean into each other and Liz blatantly discusses sex with him and Will looks at her so longingly...I was rather touched by that and thought it was hot. I guess that's my favorite willabeth moment.

Thaty was a pretty cool part. But then he runs away.. and liz looks sad.. aww..

It has a hint of forbidden love to it, which is hot. She's behind bars. He's on his way to find what he needs to spring her. Plus this is the first of at least two instances in which we know that Will doesn't like to kiss if it will imply it's the last time. That's the only reason why he doesn't.

Yea MizWillofthewisp, that was extremely hot --funny innit when what's not blatant and over the top is what is sexiest, coolest, whatever=est.

I felt the same about the below decks scene in AWE when Will confronts her about her keeping secrets re: Jack's true end. Will advancing, Elisabeth backing into the pillar, Will being manly man and leaning into her space <fans self while swooning>

Also--hurumph--Ilove is correct Will/Elisabeth==sweet (slow burn) kisses; while kisses from the other source are like a pan full of fajitas-sizzling hot, quite spicy.

Man, there has got to be some hard wired part to the female brain that we get so very attached to subtle ordinary low threshold touching activity (like almost kissing/hand holding through the bars) which creates such a strong identificationof what is sexy in our collective libido. Nature, nuture, pirate??

I don't consider any of Will and Elizabeth's kisses sweet except for the CotBP. That was sweet and sexy. The rest are full of passion, joy, relief, longing, sadness, hope, love, burning desire and an ache of wanting that makes me -- and more importantly, Elizabeth and Will -- all melty....

I would give just about anything in this world to have even a taste of what Elizabeth and Will have. *sigh*

As for the other ship's kiss...don't get me started on what I find to be one of the most lackluster and insincere kisses of all time. There are few kisses where I feel less emotionally fuzzy about than that one. It's not because it's not Willabeth (I'm over the moon over the Norribeth kiss....mmmmmm, Norribeth....). It's because it lacks any of the emotions I mentioned above.

Back to Willabeth, I think in CotBP the scene belowdecks is sexy between them...where Elizabeth is telling Will to not stop, but then he finds the medallion....*melts* Unhappily they cut the full version of that scene, which may have led to more Willabeth support. Of course, if they had followed through with it, the camera lens might have fogged up and the footage would have been ruined anyway. *sigh*

I still love how proud Will is of Elizabeth in AWE, and how he thinks she's perfectly capable of being King of Pirates. 😄 And yeah, I still think that if they hadn't been surrounded by people, Elizabeth's "Hoist the Colors" speech might have ended with Will hoisting his own colors...😉

My goodness, I'm a bit dirty-minded today. Hormones, I tell ya...

😆 hugishly large naughty, MizSur44, & naughty + humor--ever so much more appealing. I will never be able to sing that ditty to myself again without thinking about Will's rising response. (toes, I must remember to keep on my toes with this kindred spirit(ed) author). (old song--The look of love is in your eyes, a look no one can deny.)

The CotBP scene==I would've bet money they were going to kiss, after Will recovered from shock of having her guide his hand to her bosom.

Thanks for reminding about kisses--the one on deck in AWE needs to be made into a wedding cake topper--do you suppose I could make my action figures do that?

Jack says the deepest level of hell is reserved for betrayers and mutineers in CotBP.

Ta dearie, it's a bit dreary around here this morning so a huge guffaw about kissing has improved my outlook. Yes, kissing is good!

i may have a sparrabeth sig but i still have some love for willabeth (hence being on this thread lol). but ANYWAY lol will an lizzie have had some pretty steamy scenes i agree oh and your conversations on wills colours hoisting llloooollll unless i interpreted what you meant wrong, that was pretty funny! 🙂

i dont have a dirty mind by the way though...lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Miz xbrittanylalax, we've all got our bents. Your open agile mind allows you to derive maximum enjoyment from eating crackers in bed (means living life to the fullest and accepting attached consquences). You got the meat of the post--the lol factor. That's where the energy is, sez I.

On the other hand, that Hoist yr. Colours will never be the same for me, that's a bent. teehee

lol thats for sure!!

Congrats, xbrittanylalax for getting my naughty little joke. 😉 I know I should behave better than this on a forum with young eyes and ears are, but I can't help it. Some of us were just born to be bad.

Oh lordy...anyone remember that song? It's awful, but very catchy.

texgodiva2s I'm so delighted you joined this forum. You always have something interesting and witty to say. I enjoy your conversation. *toasts you* Here's to many more, aye?

Now in case anyone is curious about the extended scene in CotBP, I will try to dig up the quotes from it, but here is what I remember. The scene starts like it does in the film. He's bandaging her hand (just very intimate and sexy, imo), and they lean closer. Then they end up in each others arms. I think Will pushes her against the wall, their fingers are tangled in each others' hair, and they're about to kiss when Will spots his medallion. His response is a bit more angry and heart-breaking too, which is fabulous. I so wish that the whole scene had been in CotBP. *fans self*

Now, where'd you get that? Where does one locate deleted/extended whatevers? Phooey phooey phooey on the silly medallion!! I'm curious.

I so enjoy the sparring that goes on--the cleverness of the group as a whole--the what one doesn't think of, the other one will.

So thanks for the ta. I wish I was more hip with the acronyms--I feel decidedly dense, although I found one for pirate lingo--FTT (for the treasure), ASAP (another squid, another pirate), GDWM (gold, dubloons, women, muskets).

Have you seen the vid with the song Friend like Me and clips from Pirates? I promise you this one looks for all the world like Jack is singing with Robin Williams voice. director's name is SuePlyr--she has a great Norrington one as well. Her's good!!

A BIT? funny thing is that song just came on my ipod speakers as I read that... freaky. I love your dirty mind, but I think... yeah even thinking about watching makes me go red and giggly.

But I too enjoyed that shoot. I loved the scene below decks in CotBP, it makes me feel romantic and slushy. It's such a nice scene! drool

But I think my favourite willabeth moment is the moment when she's left standing on the beach as he sails away. *sigh* so lovely!

Now I need to go and wash all this "slushy" thinking off.

Oh yes, the below-decks scene in COTBP. You're right, Surreal, had I seen it in its unedited glory, it would have been a lot of fun and I might have been a passionate willabether. I should go watch the clip because it's been a while since I've seen COTBP.

Hmm, we should do a countdown on the best POTC kisses. True, all of them will involve Liz, but I'm going to try to do this shipping aside. If someone disagrees, we can debate it out. Savvy?

As far as I can remember, there are a total of 7 kisses in the trilogy. Liz gets a lot of lip and tongue action. Lucky b*tch. Here we go, #1 being the best.

7. Liz and Sao Feng in AWE. While this is pretty steamy and Sao is one of the most interesting minor characters of all time, this scene is mostly about rape and Liz is not enjoying herself, so it's not very romantic, and yet, it puts a nice close on their short-lived relationship and I still wish he had lived to keep things interesting.

6. Okay, willabethers, hear me out: the one between Liz and Will in DMC. I know, there are other people around, but this kiss is weird. It's like Orlando and Keira were told "just someone make a move." It's awkward looking and they don't seem to be into it. Now, there are better kisses on the way.

5. Liz and Will at the end of AWE. This isn't their wedding kiss. This is their after-sex kiss(es). It's not that I wasn't enjoying the scene. This is just a personal thing for me. I have had to be separated from my husband at times and will continue to be so since we are both military. It's not steamy or romantic or hot when you're kissing someone goodbye. I'm focusing on their heartbreak in these kisses rather than "wow this gets me going." So it's not one of the ones I enjoyed.

4. Okay, the top four. Here we go. I'm going to go with Liz and Jack's kiss here. I'm a sparrabether, and nothing thrills me more than to see these two kiss, but it has to be #4 because it is a kiss of death. If they had only had another one in addition to this, I would have put that #1 no matter what, but once the glory and beauty of this kiss is over, we have to watch Jack die and Liz try to suppress her angst over having done such a thing she thought she would never do. I'm much more a fan of their almost-kiss in their Curiosity scene. That was as far as I was expecting them to go in DMC when I saw it the first time and wondered what the hell would happen. Well, we know what happened now. I'm not betraying my fellow sparrabethers. I just wish this kiss had been under more positive circumstances.

3. Well, that brings me to Will and Liz at the end of COTBP. It's a gorgeous, sunset-filled kiss and is at the opportune moment, to quote Jack, but, even for first kisses, it's really stiff. I blame Liz's dress. I'm sure it's an improvement in comfort from her heavy/corset dress at the beginning, but she takes Will's hat off and he pulls her close and they kiss and she's STILL HOLDING THE HAT! Drop that sucker and put your arms around him, cup his cheeks, tossle his hair, whatever. Don't stand like a mannequinn when the guy who's loved you forever (and who you've wanted forever) is kissing you for the first time, at the edge of the ocean at sunset. Just...grr.

2. Yay! The top 2. My vote here goes to Norrington. James Norrington is extremely underrated and I thought in DMC he was over Liz. He didn't seem to be harboring any unrequited love for her, but I guess he was just focused on something else. I appreciated him down and dirty and was disappointed to see he had his old life back in AWE. But then he saw Liz again and his eyes lit up and he gave her a most improper hug and I was almost converted into a norribether right then and there. And then, and then, oh, he helps her escape and she wants him to go with them. And he wants to. He gives her that gentle but passionate kiss and then dies. Oh, talk about opportunities lost. He should have at least lived through that.

1. And for #1, has to be the wedding kiss. This is a classic Hollywood kiss that defies gravity and heads into surrealism. It is hot, and I say that from a sparrabeth perspective, it's beautiful, it's wet, and it's about the established couple making a committment to each other. Hollywood is not a fan of marriage, fictional or nonfictional, and it's a rarity when a couple marries in a movie to begin with. I was expecting it and knew I couldn't have my cake and eat it too, but this was actually a very climactic kiss, so it has to be first in my book.

Any disagreements?
