Did she actually kiss Sao Feng? I can't remember? I'm in a little bit of a rush so I will do mine in a very insubstantial way.
7 = Jack (because it crushed my dreams)
6 = Sao Feng (because as you said it was all about rape, and it scared me.)
5 = DMC Will (I found it hilarious because Jack and Norri looked on longingly. I also like it because it restored some hope.)
4 = Norrington (because as lovely as it was it killed Norrington and poured salt into the open wound between Will and Elizabeth)
And from here in it depends which mood I'm in.
3 = CotBP Will (because it was sweet loves young dream finally getting together, although there could have been more passion.)
Now I really need advise I just love the last two because in a way they are desperate to be with each other and there's so much in them. But...
2 = The Wedding (because it seems like of they both have had it uncertainty and just want to promise each other that they do love each other more than anything.)
1 = The Last Kiss (because it was full of promise and hope and longing and expectation and I should stop saying and.)

Miz Sur44, onlyliest concern with being that loved is that mostly we have to make it happen for ourselves. I've gotten rather close a time or two, it was my "job" to love myself enough to let myself feel the love of my partner. And besides, think how horriblely your face would hurt from grinning daylight til dark from that kind of a high, to say nothing of the kissing muscles one might develop. Still, I'd smooth risk it--in a heartbeat--for that gut wrenching, heart stopping, skin tingling, parts expressing my oh my--here comes my baby kindof deal. Kissing, standing straight up and down the length and width of your partner, face flushed, brain in overdrive, full body press--leaning into it and never never wanting to quit--is good. And on rare occasions, being that close and crosseyed becos you just can't stand not to see yourself and partner indulging in this fine activity.
but don't get me started.....I can barely express myself about something so intimate and unique--did I mention how totally cool they both look wet and kissing....they must weigh 400 lbs each over that one.
Hoggin' pirate2--mayyyyyybbbeeee a flop on 5 to 3. I loved it when Elisabeth launches at Will--that she never knocked OB down when she would barge into him is a miracle. Otherwise you are dead on--man, only 7 kissess and Calypso gets to cop a touch thru the jail bars. How much fun to be the Queen Bee?!
The one with Sao Feng was kinda scary, since Elisabeth did give herself over to him for his pleasure--her virtue was a goner had he lived. I can't believe Will didn't have a conniption Henry over that one. Sao Feng said he would accept her anger (I'm thinking over forced relations) if she didn't give over. Sao Feng was a vital man, he was experienced in ways--older or younger than Barbossa--I'm almost given over to Jack having been the youngest pirate lord, til Lizzie.
How tasty--I love your list, I love your list, I love your becos it's so per-fect-ly love-ly (old donovan song). ta dearie now what can we get into? Isn't life grand?!

OOOOH! Best kisses? That's an awesome idea...WE did win best liplock for the teen choice awards. That was a great kiss but I think I like the one on the beach better (minus the saying goodbye part) simply because it was the two of THEM that made the kiss hot and not all the rain and storm etc. and not to say that they didn't look hot when wet but if I simply had to pick I think it would be the beach scene.
Of course the Sparrabeth kiss will always be my personal fave but I know that's just me cause I really can't help it! I will fully admit that perhaps for most people (and in general) the wedding kiss was the best but you'll just have to pardon me for having no common sense.

I have to disagree about the DMC beach kiss. I think it's in the top three, simply because it's so happy AND joyful AND it's even a little funny the way Elizabeth flings herself into Will's arms, it is a bit surprising she didn't tackle him to the ground (speaking of which, if she had done that, how do you think things would have gone?)
Not only do they kiss, but Will and Elizabeth HUG, then they kiss, and it seems like they talk for a few seconds afterwards. For a brief time, they are the only ones to exist on that beach, and when the kiss is over they don't part ways, they stay connected, locked together -- until Elizabeth finds out a certain someone set up her lover.
Don't get me started on the J/E kiss though -- it is an awful kiss, which looked even stiffer and more unnatural to me than any of the other kisses. There wasn't even a nice motivation for the kiss, which makes it a complete zero in my book as far as hot kisses go. It can't be hot if the right motivations aren't there.
I think I would rate the kisses as :
1. Wedding. Yes, it's showy. I don't care. It's another example of how Will and Elizabeth can shut the world away. It is a beautiful, joyous moment in the midst of something very ugly.
2. The AWE beach kiss. Oh...my...goodness. Right up there with the kiss is the forehead-touching, which is almost more intimate and beautiful than any of the kisses in the films. Back to the kiss, the longing in the kiss, and the joy, and the fierceness of the kiss reminds us that neither of these people are going to give up. It is a kiss of promise as much as it is a kiss of goodbye, and that makes it one of the best of the film.
3. The beach kiss in DMC. I already discussed it, but I'll reitereate: it's everything that love is: passionate, joyful, strong, and even a bit silly. 😄 It is a perfect kiss simply because it isn't perfect.
4. Norribeth!!! Ok, this is really only hot because James looks like a good kisser. Being an uber fangirl of his, I admit fully I can't be remotely fair in judging this particular kiss because it makes my skin tingle watching his lips.
It's bittersweet because it's obviously so one-sided, but there is a great deal of tenderness and strength in that kiss that makes my heart flutter. This kiss is the saddest out of all of them, because it is a true kiss good-bye -- James knows he won't see Elizabeth again.
5. Will/Elizabeth Battlement Kiss: This is a sweet kiss. I don't think it looks awkward exactly. It's a typical Hollywood kiss, one that we see at the end of nearly every movie. It's tender and gentle, but they have yet to explore the deeper feelings they have. I think it's still beautiful, but it does lack the passion of the other kisses.
I don't rate rape kisses, and the J/E isn't a 'true' kiss to me, so they aren't on my list. 😄 Sorry, Sparrabethers. Don't hate me. I've thought a lot about it, and it just isn't right to try to treat it like a kiss with genuine passion and love in it.
That's debateable. Even if Elizabeth DID enjoy the kiss, she didn't enjoy it enough to change her mind about leaving Jack, and to me that negates any chance of salvaging it as a good kiss.
The fact that Elizabeth could enjoy a kiss all the while intending to kill that person is abhorrent to me, and it makes her look like a total b***h. It's almost like she emotionally raped Jack, and that just isn't cool to me at all. I don't see how anyone could look at a kiss so selfishly motivated and done with evil intent, and think that it's a good thing.
Speaking of which...Norrington and Elizabeth's kiss is an interesting parallel to the Jack/Elizabeth kiss, isn't it?
And now, to get back on subject....I love that moment when Will hands Elizabeth the rifle and they just look at each other, and they KNOW what the other is thinking...then later, even with the ship being destroyed around her, Elizabeth refuses to fire, even if it means saving herself and the others, because she won't risk killing Will. I LOVE that.
well, Elizabeth emotionally rapes every man in the series, but since she is the only woman in the series,and she gives inspiring speeches aboard pirate ships, i think you just have to get over it. elizabeth in film 3 loses something in my mind, and becomes a much less likeable character.
it is possible to enjoy something for the pure angst value of it... or rather, to be swept up in something physically that mentally freaks you out or even makes you uncomfortable. impulsive people have that problem sometimes, of jumping into something for whatever reason goes through your head at the time, and then afterwards going, what the hell have i done??? so i dont think there is any deep planning going on in lizze's mind, nor do i think she ever planned to kill jack, or even leave him. i think it was an impulse of the moment because she had seen what the kraken was capable of and was panicking, and was grasping for a way out and that's simply the first thing that popped into her head.
i dont think the question of whether she enjoyed the kiss or not is valid... anyone watching the film would assert she did in fact enjoy the kiss, a lot. why should that have any effect on her decision to leave him there? that was the whole point of the kiss to begin with, but doesn't really change the fact that she enjoyed it.
