Well, that's why it's a discussion...the points can be elaborated...sides can be taken. Course we can just call the thread starter a moron as well and ignore that there is something incredibly wrong with rape victims oftentimes.
but there are no points. the argument relies on presumpion that these generalisations are true, meaning
1-all female rape victims are adults
2-all female rape victims are weak
3-any post traumatic stress disorder is simply a product of weakness which rape victims allow to happen.
4-it is possible and presumably easy for all rape victims to just "get over it", and thus should.
5-all raping of females simply involves an initial beating and then some superficial intercourse.
....all of which the threadstarter would easily get over if it happened to him...which he knows since he's been in a fight and lost. dont ask. he knows.
THATS THE ARGUMENT.
any points made in the OP must relate to the argument or they are not valid points since they are based a fallacy. simple as that.

But still, why can't you female rape victims simply get over it? I mean, a guy beats you up and screws you and you're mentally unstable for the rest of your life. Why not just say" That sucked. Hope it doesn't happen again."?
I agree to a degree. Many victims seem to be unstable for a long time after, which seems to be just as bad as worse to them as the rape. And though I wouldn't say it's the fault of the person that got raped, that maybe could and certainly should be changed....to make it easier for rape victims.

I mean, when I got beat up, it didn't scar me for life. Of course I wasn't raped but that shit wouldn't scar me either. Do you know how many men in prison are raped? Do they become crazy crack smoking bastards for the rest of their life? No, they move on.
Well, I don't know the statistics on it, but it seems subjectively that those kind of rape are indeed more able to deal with such an event. I think it must be because of the way rape is seen in this society (perfectly shown by the responses to your thread)

It's a crime. And not a small one.

I was using his words, maybe if I said "victim of rape" it would sound better?
I just find it astonishing that someone who has been raped, married someone with absolutley zero compassion for what they went through.
Rape isn't just a physical attack its a psychological one too, people who haven't been through it sitting in judgement of people who have and trying to make some sweeping judgement makes me angry.
I could go on a verbal tirade but this subject hits very close to home for me so I will say one thing, its not just the person who is raped who it has an effect on, its their partner, their parents, their friends, it effects everyone.

Not really.

The psychological element is the key point. That aspect is often as much to do with the 'victim' as the perpetrator.
Such issues never get properly discussed though, as visible in this thread.
An approach which does more harm than good.
Okay...here are my two cents...
You can see my view in the other thread as far as therapy are concerned.
These are the things I hate in this world.
1. Long car trips. (I would rather have reeds shoved under my finger and toe nails, then my finger and toe nails ripped out, and mace sprayed in my eyes continuously for 10 minutes then to go on a long car trip...I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOATHE CAR TRIPS. (I have ADHD and I cannot sit still.))
2. Rapists (If the victim is not killed, then swap this with # 3.)
3. Cold blooded murderers. (someone who kills an innocent...not manslaughter, etc..)
4. Child Molesters.
5. People who use religion to kill an innocent bystander in the name of their god.
As you can see...I do not like rapists at all...in fact...I hate them.
Unfortunately, there will always be rapists among humans. In the future when our brains can be fully integrated into a cybernetic interface and people actually meet in a virtual environment...rapists will hack those systems and rape people in their own mind. (Yes, something like the 'Matrix" is very much possible and will happen in the future and people will be raped there as well.)
Also, the word rape means more than sexual things. Ever read "The Rape of the Locke"? I use the word rape all the time but not in the sexual sense...if someone kills me on an online game...I say that they raped me because they took my dignity and I did not want it taken so technically, they raped me. I have invented the word "rapens" which basically means multiple rapes in a leet speak kind of pronunciation. So If I get killed multiple times, I would say something like, "Man, I am getting plenty of rapens, that's it, I am killing the newb and tea baggin' him to make up for the rapens."
(Pronounced- ray-pens)

Honestly, can women be that weak of mind.
Red: You're saying rape victims should just let go of their painful past experience and move on.
Green: Here you remember when you got beat up. Obviously that was a painful memory and is still with you (otherwise you wouldn't remember it, right?)
Blue: And you say women are weak minded.

Are you mad, because you don't get as much attention as a rape victim or are you in any way affected by one?
It seems like always when someone is pissed, because someone else gets positive or negativ attention it is because he or she is jealouse.
Poor boy, are you so unhappy in life, that you need someone to tell you how painful and sad your life is and pity you instead of one of those rape victims that whine too much anyway?
When a female is raped it is significantly different than to be beaten up and .. well, I don't know and can't imagine how it is with men, but for a woman it is a highly invasive attack.
It is not only that it must be very painful, but that someone forces something on you, that is normally a result of love and trust and togetherness has to do damage.
So I say .. you are stupid. You could have figured that out on your own just as well. 😊
Oh and that women are weak .. well in many ways they are weaker than men and it is part of our role and it makes us more attractive for men as this behaviour adresses the instinct to protect.
But in other situations women have shown a greater ability to cope with pressured and dangerous situations.

Possibly the lowest words-to-foolishness ratio ever witnessed in a post.

Now this thread tickles me for so many reasons.
One the title. 'Female rape victims' A bit sexist isnt it. Why not just re title it Rape victims etc...
Two the fact that this thread was started by a male.
Three the fact that he has never been raped yet he states that it isnt a big deal.
Being raped is a horrible thing, it changes you from a happy go lucky person to someone who can't trust people anymore.
My advice is unless you have been pinned to the ground had your clothes torn off you and raped violently and left, not just only feeling used and dirty but bleeding then you can not simply tell people to get over it.

Probably because he was talking about female rape victims.
