I started reading Thor about 2 years ago have a some TPB and comics. Really enjoy Thor's adventures. Would be to long to write everything I like about it. Just had a few questions that I hoped could be answered.
When Odin comes back is this the first time he is back since Jurgens/Simonson? Also when he comes back is it explained how? In the beginning of JMS run we have Thor's hammer shatter and Dr. Strange helps rebuild it, in doing so some of Thor's essence is used, will/has Thor get this back?

Short short version, Odin has been in a dimension/void where he has been battling Surtur the whole time since his "death" Thor sense Asgard was in trouble b/c balder sucked as King, So Thor brought Odin back to life by smashing his casket 🙁 . Odin has been only back for about 5 issues so far. As for Mjolnir being repaired Strange used what little Odinforce Thro had left and Thor's on life force to bond with the hammer. It didn't weaken Thor however if Mjolnir breaks agauin Thor will die yet again

Yes in world eaters Odin is back
Regain Thor having the Odinpower again is highly unlikey as odin is back
Runes have not even been mention fron now since Thor returns i guessing they are gone for Thor at least
Warrior maddness no clue deosn't look like it IF seeing asgard destoryed in siege didn't do it who knows.

Anyone read the new journey in myst. Good God Odin is pissed and the odinpower looks to be in full swing i hope to god whe Odin and the serpant lock horns we get some all out godly universe shaking stuff going no H2H BS. Plus this new Asgard looks to be better then the old as they are gearing up for war i hope the asgardians are no longer cannon fonder but then agains this arc is doing great so far but it still can take and ugly twist

Thor is hurt from the his foray into the tree soup and wants to keep it a secret. Elsewhere, Odin looks at the Galactus Seed and contemplates what he holds. Heimdall confronts odin and says Odin has hidden things from his sight, meaning the seed. Heimdall wants to be privy to the knowledge Odin is hiding from him. Odin clarifies that it is not actually a seed but rather an egg, stating it is older than everything and very powerful. Sounds like it's something to do with Galan's universe. Odin seals away the egg in the Destroyer armor, perhaps foreshadowing use of both objects. Odin admits he actually sent thor and sif into the tree soup to retrieve the egg, rather than the overt reason of repairing the tree.On broxton, surfer arrives and warns the citizens of broxton to flee as he heralds the imminent arrival of Galactus. Some people heed, some don't. Surfer tells the citizens to flee and to not return until Galactus has had his reckoning with Asgard.
Finally Surfer touches down on Asgard itself (further reaffirming that mighty thor takes place before Fear Itself) and delivers an ultimatum to Odin to relinquish the egg. Odin says no.
Surfer starts building up energy for a blast but Thor cheap shots him from behind and threatens surfer's life.
End of issue
The shit at the beginning with the rock colossus was completely pointless. a tease of what the artifact thor and sif retrieved from the tree but the big reveal was saved for a later issue.
this whole crisis that odin and his warriors are facing (since odin states he will need all of asgard's swords for the upcoming confrontation) is undercut by this issuing being released concurrent with odin getting all hyper and crazy due to the serpent's arrival. All in all, just a set up issue for the rest that follow it.
EDIT: Unlettered preview for issue 3 shows Thor battling Surfer!
Looks like Surfer is a bit overmatched with both Thor and Odin, so he flies to the Big G.
But Big G looks melancholy
strongly leaning toward the Galactus Seed being related to Galan's universe, which explains why Galactus wants it so badly, and indeed has some melancholy nostalgia on his face.

Surfer definitely thought he could challenge Odin. Apparently he hasn't learned his lesson. Wasn't a fan of Thor attacking from behind.
In regards to the issue, there wasn't anything that made me want to punch someone but the characterization and dialogue is still ticking me off. It worked in non cannon past Ragnarok cycles but not here. Especially after following JMS' and Gillen's run.
I hope Fraction doesn't screw this up. It would take some real talent to make a Galactus/Odin and Surfer/Thor confrontation shitty.

But let's totally over read into the page and notice how the movement lines from the hammer swing are just in the hammer and not in Norrin hands, that means Thor didn't even managed to budge him even a little with that charge. SS 10/10.

But wait, I'm going to ignore most of the other panels, alter the context of the situation and claim that arguments I dislike are hyperbole. I'll refrain from citing Pak's opinion on the subject though, that's sinking too low.
