I had a feeling all a long he was going to be writing it, as his current work load is comparatively small compared to Johns. I think Batman and All star Superman are his only titles that are coming out 'regularly'.
If the final Crisis is anything like the ORIGINAL World War 3, it will be hailed as one of the all time greats ! 🙂
The following isn't really a spoiler. Just a prediction/rumor I heard about the direction of FC. It seems plausible though, so who knows.

So my comic book vendor was telling me that the newest rumor is that once the New Gods are killed off, the JLA "Pantheon", headed by the Big 3, will comprise the New New Gods (or whatever), and will be part of the 5th World that Dan Didio alluded to a few times.
Before that, it seemed the pervading idea was that

I believe that idea was already scratch. It began with a rumor in CBR and then spread all over blogs. I think fans misunderstood what they read in an upcoming preview of Countdown 30. In which we see Earth 15 with Jason as Batman and Donna as WW. Fans build this theory that New Earth heroes were going to become the New Gods. Thus launching the Fifth World.
There was also the rumor that Damian was to become Batman after Bruce's death. But fans totally rejected that but eventually we still got it in Batman #666.
All the theories that Bruce dies in FC have not been denbunked. There is a posiblity...is just that no one wants neither Dick, Jason, Tim, or that garbage of Damian becoming Batman.

Anyway, of course you're right that no theories have yet been debunked. It's still too early. I was just throwing it out there, because it seemed to make some sense to me.
Truthfully? Nightwing is the only person I would ever consider worthy to succeed Batman. The others haven't earned it, ESPECIALLY Damian. 😠
