Cassie? You fail for trying to suggest a female Batman outside of Elseworlds. 😐

😛

On a related note, the prophecy of the mongooses came to pass. The Blackest Night happened. The Goober has fallen and he destroyed the ancient world of Mongoose-kolips. 🙁

Corner.

The last thing we need is another Batwoman. 👇

I think DC and Marvel are out of ideas.

I own all of the superfriends dvd's, they are fun to watch its great classic stuff.

But when I was reading an issue of JLA and luthor's new gang of misfits all hang out at 'THE HALL of DOOM' in a swamp, even I was like c'mon man.

It was cool when JLU did it, but the comics have to do it also?

Its like the only inspiration they get are from their own past stories and incarnations now which is sad. Nothing new to add apparently.

I'm kind of disappointed that DC is rushing into another Crisis so quickly.

I mean the entire reason Infinite Crisis worked is because DC waited 20 years to do it.

Nah I think the final crisis will be very good. I have high hopes.

the guy at my local comic store told me the final crisis is going to be 8 issue over 9 months is this true?

After the revelations from Death of the New Gods, its seems that final crisis will revolve around

Spoiler:
The source destroying the universe to replace it with a better one

Or something like that. I mean it's being written by Grant Morrsion, so its going to be really weird whatever it is.

No we need more crisis's. 🤘
20 years is too long to wait for another Crisis. I enjoy the suspense this one is bringing. It should be a Crisis every other year with a Countdown to it. DC has so many characters total they could pull it off.

Just the universe?

Spoiler:
Try the Multiverse
😛

I'm kinda down that Morrison was chosen to write the Final Crisis.

If for some reason Didio let's him sneak that annoying Damian into the Crisis....Aarrrrgh!!!!

It just boils my blood to even think about that monstrosity. 🙁

Well, the 4th World is completely separate/disconnected from any other Universe in DC, [hence them needing Boom Tubes to reach Earth, and vice versa].

So if the Source destroyed the 4th World, and replaced it with the 5th World -- it shouldn't affect the mainstream DCU at all.

Unless of course DC rearranges their cosmology again. barker

That's become a long-running cliche of DC's major events. Replacing current reality with the 'perfect one', as the plot.

Well just because the are separate doesn't mean the source can't affect the multiverse so if it truly is a "Crisis" storyline then it probably will ✅

Ohh I agree the Source could affect the mainstream DCU -- I was just saying that if it only destroyed the 4th World, there shouldn't be any long-term effects throughout the rest of DC.

WELL THEN WE ARE IN AGREEMENT!!!! 😠

SO THERE!!!!! 😠

Lots of good stuff in here about Final Crisis from the writer himself, but something I found interesting.

GM: Very much. I mean, obviously when you’re dealing with DC characters, these are very big, iconic guys. We’re doing some new characters as well, maybe revisiting some who’ve only made one appearance or so in books like 52, characters who might seem minor but they really become kind of the driving force of the narrative because they’re the identification guys – sometimes it can be really hard to identify with characters as huge as Superman and Batman and Wonder Woman in a story that’s this big, so we wanted some human scale guys in there too to reinforce the spine of the book.

So yeah, it’s very character-driven, but it’s also got this big mythic element as well, because of the type of characters we’re using.

We’re dealing with the evil gods, the New Gods and Darkseid, in a way that you’ve never seen them before. We discover that all the previous experiences of the New Gods have kind of been projections into the DC Universe, and we’ve never seen the real thing until now…so it’s bad. (laughs). It’s the real deal this time. Real evil.

Lord. I think I just heard trick cream himself.

It's something the New God fans have been saying for a long time, because it's hinted at in their stories constantly.[I know because I own a lot of them.]

He goes farther into detail about Darkseid in the article, and really gives the best view yet of Final Crisis. A must read for people who have been following.

GM: Well, for me, the great thing about this story is that the New Gods themselves are out of the picture. The idea is that the war between the gods has been won, and evil has won, and evil has now come to Earth to enact its revenge against every living thing. So it’s essentially good versus evil, and that’s what the story is all about.

In previous cases where the heroes of the DCU have faced Darkseid, they’ve had the powers and the technology of the New Gods to help them…this time they’re alone against absolute overwhelming cosmic evil.

So from there, it’s quite easy to get into the mind of characters like Darkseid
