GM: Very much. I mean, obviously when you’re dealing with DC characters, these are very big, iconic guys. We’re doing some new characters as well, maybe revisiting some who’ve only made one appearance or so in books like 52, characters who might seem minor but they really become kind of the driving force of the narrative because they’re the identification guys – sometimes it can be really hard to identify with characters as huge as Superman and Batman and Wonder Woman in a story that’s this big, so we wanted some human scale guys in there too to reinforce the spine of the book.
So yeah, it’s very character-driven, but it’s also got this big mythic element as well, because of the type of characters we’re using.
We’re dealing with the evil gods, the New Gods and Darkseid, in a way that you’ve never seen them before. We discover that all the previous experiences of the New Gods have kind of been projections into the DC Universe, and we’ve never seen the real thing until now
…so it’s bad. (laughs). It’s the real deal this time. Real evil.
Glad to see the New Gods will get a different spotlight.
However, don't be surprise if DC pulls some kind of super power for Superman that tops anything the 'real' New Gods can do.
Superman is the favorite child of DC. They wouldn't dare make someone more powerful without Superman having his own upgrade.

Because they are making Darkseid more powerful than even what nvr would make him?Or just powerful in general for you?

Anyway, so, the size Orion was when planets were wizzing by him, when they were the size of bumblebees... isn't the true form even?
Originally posted by Mr. SlippyfistAll I can say is if this pans out the way that is being discussed that I will again say that dc retcons the shit out of way too much. When you keep changing entire histories it gets tiresome.

Well,
If we've "never seen the real thing", then....srug
I think Spectre is going to have to work some magic then.
Or Black Adam... 😖hifty:

I don't see why this is such a big surprise to you, its been hinted at a few times in the DC Universe and you knew it and threw it out the window because you rate DC very low 😱 . Hell even some stuff in Death of the New Gods aren't totally true, like is that really what The Source/God looks like or does he look completely different (a Man) 😉
