I don't wanna read it...saving it for tomorrow.

Spoiler:
It opens with Metron meeting Anthro, telling him not to be afraid and giving him knowledge of fire which he apparently uses to free his village of attackers.

Then it switches to Turpin, meeting Orion, who tells him that heaven was cracked and broken, and that they did not die and that 'he' is in all of you. He then dies. The Black Racer is seen in the background.

John and Hal recive the signal to investigate and find Orion dead. The Guardians afterwards seal the Earth and tell them to interrogate all potential suspects.

Turpin investigates the dissapearance of 6 kids and the Question gives him a lead, a place called 'Dark Side Club'. He goes there and confronts Darkseid, who reveals that he won the war in heaven, and that he enslaved the kids using the anti-life.

Mirror Master and Dr Light team-up, defeat a bunch of kids and get Metron's chair at Libra's request. Meanwhile, Libra tries to recruit villains such as Luthor, and as a demonstration of the advantages of following him are, he kills Martian Manhunter, with all of them watching.

The Justice League, upon finding out about the presence of New Gods, decide to try and find them before they strike.

Monitor Nix Uotan (Earth 51) is exiled due to failing to complete his duties and Weeja Dell discovers that now the Monitors can also feel emotions due to contact with other organisms. The Multiverse machine is also revealed.

A blonde kid (Lightray ?) rushes twoards Anthro, telling him he needs the weapons Metrong gave him against the Gods.

The last page is with a guy waking up, apparently shocked of the body he's in while at the news, Green Arrow swears revenge on those who killed Martian Manhunter.

And that is....what comic?

Yeah I read it. No patience.

😆

Me too 🙁

That guy at the end is either the Monitor, or Orion, imo.

mmm

It's clearly the Monitor. He looks exactly the same.

And that was a pretty underwhelming comic. Maybe I expect too much...

underwhelming indeed.....but then again i cant complain too much cuz this is how it is with big summer events each year...there is all this hype and only to find out that its gonna be a set up for next year...now the simple fact that the titans have Mas Y Menos....and the meta community seem to have no clue who the new gods are im thinking other universe...or mindwipe at the very least...cuz even superman who has been offered a place among the new gods on an occasion or two for f **** sake seemed to be vaguley familiar with them...WTF?!!?

also, it seems like a nice read i dont wanna down play that but im guessing that its gonna kick into high gear soon seeing as how there's only gonna be seven issues..so i'll withhold jusgment until about isee 3 or so

Why does no one on DC Earth ever remember the NewGods?

I liked those bits at the end, though.

Infinite Crisis started out with a bang so I guess I expected something like that. Hell, even Secret Invasion #1 did more for me than this.

No no. Don't you guys see it? This is Morrison's writing. It's not going to be like the big events that have come before. This has a Seven Soldier's feel. It's going to be like the sum of many parts. So that when it finally all comes together, you get a better appreciation cause you can see all the pieces. And that's when you are in awe and enjoy the scale most.

At least, that's how I've always felt reading Morrison's big epics.

^ Someone mark that post as my prediction for Final Crisis. 😖hifty:

Or it could be a complete flop with lackluster writing like this throughout 😛

Personally I know these are set-up issues for the wider audience. So who knows where this will go it could be amazing. I think the elements are there for it. Of course I said the same thing about Civil War 😛

I basically just want to see all the New Gods' outfits, and I want to see 5th world Darkseid wreck shop.

It's not a great comic on its own but it is a good set up for the story line.

Spoiler:
Manhunter is dead. A Monitor gets dropped to Earth. Libra is back from PreCrisis days. NewGods are popping back into existence. Darkseid has the ALE. Anthro (the lowest tech DC hero) is given a weapon by Metron (arguably the highest tech DC character). The sky has turned red.

All interesting things that can potentially go in very interesting directions especially under Jones and Morrison.

Very true

If FC succeeds....I credit Geoff Johns.

If FC fails....I blame it on Grant Morrison.

HA-HA! 😖hifty:

FYI, the person running to Anthro was Kamandi

Anthro being the first boy, and Kamandi being the last boy on Earth. Nice touch

StatueOfLiberty ala PlanetOfTheApes maybe not so much.
