That's actually a key thing in the old Kamandi series actually.

No no. Don't you guys see it? This is Morrison's writing. It's not going to be like the big events that have come before. This has a Seven Soldier's feel. It's going to be like the sum of many parts. So that when it finally all comes together, you get a better appreciation cause you can see all the pieces. And that's when you are in awe and enjoy the scale most.

At least, that's how I've always felt reading Morrison's big epics.

^ Someone mark that post as my prediction for Final Crisis. 😖hifty:

Yep, Morrison almost always starts off slow and crafts something great, unlike some other guys who start hot and fizzle two or three books in, like Civil War or House of M.

I just hope DC doesn't go ape shit with Final Crisis tie-ins. A few are okay, but an ass load of 'em is.... meh. ermm

And as a whole, was Countdown good? ermmno

😛.

What issues has been tied into FC altogether? I feel like reading everything.

Wow that was a pretty tame issue for the start of a Crisis. When something has the word crisis stamped on it, I expect something huge.

Spoiler:
I've never been a fan of the New God's or Martian Manhunter and both their deaths have been predicted for months.
I'm trying to think of one thing that occurred in the issue that hasn't been given away from solits, previews, interviews etc etc.

Secret Invasion #1>>>>>>>>>>Final Crisis #1, IMO

Don't worry, its almost sure that FC#2 will be better than SI#2, since the later sucked hard.

No shit, it tied the whole DC, together for a whole year. It touched every title. And produced several of it's own minis as well.

Salvation Run 7 is out right?

Dr.Light is gonna do Giganta.

Ok I need some help. Did Grant Morrison totally just retcon out EVERY New God appearance right out of continuity?

Also did they ignore the end of Countdown or something?

It's almost like the source restarted time with the New Gods from before having never existed. And Orion is a Remnant from the Countdown who has been collected by the New Black Racer so that he can be retconned out by the source as well. I'm sure the six missing teenagers are the new forever people.

They aren't. See Final Crisis sketchbook for new versions of the Forever People.

I'm sure Morrison isn't about to linger on terrible Countdown plot points. Everything New God related now is a mystery (we don't know what happened when they "died" or the fallout of the "war in heaven), treat it as such, and enjoy the story!

Personally...I hope Morrison retcons everything from Countdown. Like it never existed...that leaves a much better taste in my mouth than the actual reading.

I'd also like to point out that the design of the new Metron is absolutely phenominal. I love his head rest appears to be some kind of mystical computer of knowledge. Perfect.
