Except both books have hardly come out, and one has next to nothing to do with the storyline. The problem with this Crisis, is the title (which is purely a money grabbing publicity stunt ). Morison has wanted to write this New Gods story since the Rock of Ages arc. Its basically what happened when Aquaman, Kyle and Wally disappeared with Metron from D.C. earth. If the book was called; New Gods rebirth, or the Crime Bible, New Testament or something of that ilk everyone would be loving it. I agree its not really a Crisis, as it has next to no relation to Wolvmans original storyline. Even the Multiverse is playing a far less pivotal role. But the book itself is wicked. If we hadn't had to put up with fecal mess of countdown and the death of the New Gods, everybody would be heralding this as the Greatest New God story since the Original WW3. I wish people would try and read less into the anti-hype and read it as a stand alone story. Forget about all the moronic sheep who have only picked up the book because its contains the word crisis. Forget the fact that storyline isn't novice friendly, most New God
arcs aren't. Forget Countdown, forget the Death of the New Gods. Stop believing the bad press and think for yourselves for once

Tricksterpriest, I'm sorry you're not seeing in what Cartesian Doubt is saying that I am....
It starts with your inability to spell Marv Wolfman's name and it just progresses from there...
It's not an issue of grammar mistakes, because it shows that you're not really thinking about the first two crises...
Take a look at the actions of the Monitors throughout all five released issues- each issue shows the Monitors, and with these Monitor's, Morrison is not just launching into the story he wanted to tell about the Worligog back when he was the writer of JLA, but instead, he is writing a truly current DCU story- he is using the ridiculous edits of Johns during IC (like the absurd OMACS he introduced.... if you actually like Kirby, like WD always claims to, then I don't understand how you like Johns.... his OMACS are a clear insult) and other edits that other writers have been introducing, and FROM that standpoint Morrison is introducing something entirely new (something..... unforseen?) about the nature of the DC universe.... while he did hint about it during "JLA Rock of Ages (where Metron gives the 'gog to Superman Prime)," and states "sometimes Darkseid wins, sometimes we win" it is something utterly new and different. It's been bothering me that a lot of people have been saying that Morrison is just showing what happened during "Rock of Ages" but that's just utterly untrue- if it was, then he wouldn't be taking such pains to show the differences between his storyline and that particular one- Captain Marvel, Mary Marvel, Tawny, the interactions of the Guardian, Montoya's (Question's) interaction with Amanda Waller and the rest (in a clear Kirby reference, Checkmate is referred to as a "Global Peace Agency)," the influence of Superman's/Batman's/Wonder Woman's POST IC actions....
While it is clearly similar to Morrison's work with "Rock of Ages" it is so clearly, tremendously different that it's obvious that you're just not getting it if you think it's the same storyline.
CD, it's not that I'm really disagreeing about how people should be reading the story with you- I agree people should read for themselves. It's the way you present your argument where they ought to be reading the story from your perspective that I take issue with you.
And anyways, I know you dislike me because I insulted Descartes, so go ahead and attack my argument....
