Fair enough. Though I also saw Validus getting held in check last issue by some chick's hair (ala Medusa). I'm fairly sure Johns is simply writing to fit the storyline, power levels be damned. To an extent, I can empathize with a writer's need to do that, but if he has to nerf so many supposed team-wreckers, he could have easily just brought 1-2 less of them along for the story.

Current Validus isn't particularly strong though, is he? At least not compared to the PC levels.

Post Zero Hour Validus is about normal Kryptonian/Daxamite level. IIRC, he was always portrayed equal to Mon-El.

That said, there's no telling which Validus this actually is.

Then he was definitely taken down for the story.

And nerfing characters because you're clueless as to how to write them is no excuse in my view. Not after Ostrander's Spectre series or Morrison's Big 7 JLA.

Alright, I'll admit Johns sometimes badly screws up in relative power levels.

QFT on the above. But he did do justice to Anti-Monitor and the Sin Corp. Except during the whole lethal force thing. Does SBP/SMP count or no?

I don't think it was because he was clueless as to how to write Validus, I think it was more because he needed to focus on other things.

Yeah chief, I'm not talking about Validus.

Though it wouldn't surpise me if GJ really was clueless about Validus.

Who's been getting such a major nerf then? D:

I agree about Johns generally not giving a sh*t about powerlevels and focusing mostly on the story.

Which isn't so bad,as a Martian Manhunter fan,I have very little concern for power consistency.

i have a question..

prime HV went straight through supes..but in the JLA vol 2..i see amozo HV hit supes and his body process that HV as a source of energy..

so..my question is..what the f**k was that about??

Primes heat vision is absurdly powerful would be the answer.

Phantom Zone Zod's heat vision also went straight through Superman's shoulder in "For tomorrow"

There won't be another crisis ever because this is the FINAL Crisis. Not ever again. No more crisis. Thank God.

...On the plus side, I'm looking forward to DC's Catastrophe On 52 Earths. 😱

I had a thought...what if superman was able to process the HV because it was a copy of his heat vision?(since amazo was using a copy of supermans HV)...but to each other kryptonians have unique bio energy HV...so although they are resistant to heat....because it is processed from there own bodies...it can hurt them...that might be why we have not seen it before...and i could see alternate earth supermen having different bio energy HV......but a copied power might just work.
