Not too sure

I'm going to wait before I get excited about this I'm getting a little bit learly of new york city gets destroyed movies. On top of that there are some aliens invading nework movies out there allready......war of the worlds, and the invasion...to nae two

Just some subtle details I found on the IMDB board for Cloverfield.

Spoiler:
1. Dharma Logo from LOST shown in the beginning of the film

2. Sephora and the Black Line

The first big one was Sephora, the name on the first building they stop
at after the bridge collapse.

Sephora written on a wall with black lines.

Sephora in Hebrew means bird, and Sephira is singular for the spheres
of the tree of life in the kabbalah, and the black line in the tree of
life represents the tail end of the abyss, or the dark night of the
soul.

So you have the bridge, and abyss between the two realms of existence.
The bridge has been destroyed, there is no escape, no exit as shown by
the sign in the subway we focus on quite clearly. The time is 3:16AM,
biblical reference John 3:16.

JJ Abrams loves detail and references like this, anyone who watches
LOST will attest to that.

The first three Sephiroth, called the Supernal Sephiroth, are
considered to be the primordial energies of the universe. The next
stages of evolution on the Tree of Life are considered to exist beyond
a space on the tree, between the Supernals and the other Sephiroth,
called the Abyss, because their levels of being are so distinct from
each other that they appear to exist in two totally different
realities. The Supernal Sephiroth exist on a plane of divine energy.
This is why another correspondence for Binah is the idea of suffering,
because the Supernal Maternal energy gives birth to a world that is
inherently excluded from that Divine Union.

The Tree of Life does not only speak of the origins of the physical
universe out of the unimaginable, but also of man's place in the
universe.

3. Woman on the building looking in the same direction as the characters

4. Mom calling at 3:16

5. Movie starts at 6:42am with Beth and ends at 6:42am

6. No Exit sign in the subway

7. Saturday May 23 would have to be either 1998, 2009, 2015, or 2020

8. Camera surviving us is a testament to our inability to make spiritual lives as durable as our materialistic society

9. Symbol for 911 and it's effect on our society, as Godzilla is a symbol for Japan and the effects of the A bomb.

10. The empty carriage being pulled by the white horses... perhaps the pale
horse of Death in Revelations.

I saw this today.

I have to say, the little things were a lot scarier that the big thing IMO. They were like giant face-huggers. maybe a bit of the things from starship troopers in there too.

But yeah, awesome movie, never would have thought a big monster movie could scare me, but this is proved me wrong. I think the ideas and the way it was all put together was genius. And the army was believable, like in godzilla i was just like 😐 nah. This convinced me that, yeah, they would probably do that. There's no annoying stunt in there that made me scoff as in "Yeah, right, because you could actually do that".

So yeah, all around great movie.

Good find roland, i didnt notice the Dharma logo! 😱

Yezz!

You gain +1 Blaxican respect.

because, obviously, my respect means so much 😐

Just saw it..really liked it but too short and the ending wasn't good.

The camera work kept me intrested through the movie. The one friend was funny as Hell.

Oh yeah, when he's talknig about the guy that set homeless people on fire in the subway, While their walking through the subway. Oh, yeah he was funny

Personally i think the mutated whale concept would have worked better than the monster we saw in cloverfield.

About the sequel i think it would be interesting to watch it from the military POV, As to why it may be interesting, doing so from another civilian or group of people would be almost the same as the first cloverfield.

Spoiler:
So was he like partially eaten by Cloverfield? you see his head and shoulders though, and he was standing up, so i figured they'd be the first things to go. Or was he just like, crushed?

Spoiler:
I can't really say for sure, but I think maybe the monster ate him, and either bit him in like half and dropped him, or simply didn't like the way he wasted and sit him out, in which case it would have been the 500 foot fall that killed him. Because I seem to remember that even after falling out it's mouth he was still yelling.

Hmm, ah well, i don't suppose it matter all that much, i'm just curious

I was not very impressed with Cloverfield. It was good, but it did not really blow me away like I had hoped. I didn't like most of the acting, the story was just okay, the camera glitches and re-cueing of the tape was actually pretty clever, but the special effects were not all that impressive. I thought The Host was way better.

going to see it on tuesday 😊

It's decent, I saw it in the theatres. I wouldn't call it outstanding or superb though.
