I never seriously paid attention to any of the Literature I read in Literature class. I prefer to read at my own leisure, which is why I re-read all those pieces of writing at my own discretion, and found that I enjoyed it considerably more.

Should do so. I did back in high school - my junior year we did two projects where we got to pick a book of our choice from a list my teacher did. I did the Hobbit and Brave New World. I'd already read the Hobbit several times but I'd never read Brave New World before, though my mom had told me how much she had loved it when she first read it. Definitely has wound up being one of my favorite books I've read.

It was a lit class, and consisted of reading/analyzing/etc. short stories. So the book was pretty much optional, as everything could be looked up online.
So most of us just brought our laptops with us to class...and then did pretty much everything but pay attention 😛
