If you want to compare her do it to Ino or Tenten, both of whom are only likely to get as much help as Hinata from the writers. Temari was not only deliberately help back for the exams but is also clearly more experienced than the girls of the Rooki 9 and team Gai, whom she was pit against. I'm pretty sure any chuunin would have spanked Tenten just as hard.

Throughout the Zabuza arc (she did Nothing), When she shows to have an obvious favourite teammate who she treats entirely differently throughout the most of Pre-Shippuden, That it took her until the end of Naruto to think 'Hey, I haven't done anything, or been useful to anyone like, ever, I should actually Do something about it!' which may be the first time I've ever seen her Train at all =\, That she made a team mate promise to chase the other even when it is very destructive on Naruto and Sasuke doesn't even want it, She Poisons her team outside their country leaving them for anyone for her own revenge, I'm also going to summarize a lot by saying Making bad decisions based on her emotions rather than her brain for the smaller occurrences, She beats the ever living out of her team mates if they piss her off, She also Jumped in the way of Gaara and ended up getting herself captured, couldn't have just pulled him out of the way....

Well actually Tenten would probably have beaten Part 1 Sakura and Part 1 Hinata. Ino and Kin might beat her though but I think she'd beat them.

Doing nothing is better than failing, Sakura trained during this arc, just like the others, Hinata wants someone not on her team to win against someone on her team, Hinata is going to openly let someone cheat off her, potentially putting her team in danger, Hinata takes her eyes off the enemy, once again putting her team in danger, Hinata stands in Pain's way instead of doing the smart thing and creating a distraction to allow her to free Naruto. Bonus point: Remember who saved her? :3
