Get to bed my dear...you are too young to be staying up so late...you grow the most when you sleep...you are already too skinny so you are not going to max out your bone size enough already...compound that with the fact that you don't sleep well and presto...you will end up with crappy bones and you will be short.

Dude, sorry, I might have come off as arrogant with how I cleaned up your statement. I apologize if it did come off as arrogant and that was not my intention...I hold your opinions and views on things in high regard and my intention was only to provide additional information, not to demean you.Indeed, eating and exercise are not the only parts to a healthy body; they are but 2 slices of the health pie.
Let me explain better.
A healthy body is obtained and maintained through 5 different dimensions.
1. Resistance training. (Weight lifting etc.)
2. Cardio Vascular Training. (Treadmill, Elliptical Machine, jogging, Boxing etc.)
3. Flexibility training. (Stretching to keep you limber...it can be things like Yoga and Pilates or just simply a 15-minute stretch in the morning. Stretching can play a role in maintaining good joint mobility as you get older...etc.)
4. Nutrition. (Your diet is a large part of your health.)
5. Psychological state. (This is a big one, stress, anxiety, etc. can affect your health greatly and be counter productive to the first four.)Some people like to add a sixth one, which is spiritual, but I feel that it should be lumped into psychological.
lol, no need to be sorry, if i came off as offended or what ever, my apologies. I like to be cynical and that kind of stuff rarely works properly over the internet.
I did a really quick literature search this aft and found some interesting articles. I may need to retract my statements about the causes of the epidemic (re: Obesity as a social problem is probably rooted more in diet and exercise than in the stuff I was talking about [though I'm steadfast on psychological issues]) although another study I was looking at showed the connection of stress to obesity, which would explain why there is a class difference in obesity trends (though I do not know how pronounced it is, I'm just parroting).
I agree with your health thing though.

Of course you do...it is synergistic AND it pays homage to the human psyche...your specialty. 😄
People like to place the blame on only one variable because it is easier for them to wrap their mind around one thing.
Fixating is also the thing of obsessions and can lead to misinterpreted empirical data, misplaced focus, and corruption. (Damned FDA.)
Through years of personal study and observation, there is no one magic bullet for this obesity epidemic in America; it is a factor of many things. However, exercise could greatly remedy the problems and if every American made an investment into my 5 piece pie, there wouldn't be an obesity epidemic...but I am a hopeless optimist wishing for an impossible utopia. (Wait...that sounded pessimistic.)

It seems so easy though. I am blessed with both a low appetite and fast metabolism, so even if I didn't exercise I keep a pretty constant low weight, and for that reason, maybe I don't get it. Walking places, getting outside, just doing stuff and not filling your face when you aren't hungry seems like it is all that one would need to not get overweight.
I guess that is my problem with this whole obesity thing. It is so easy for me to keep a healthy/attractive weight that, in the way I see the world, there has to be something motivating people to not exercise (or conversely, destroying any motivation they may have had to be active). That is why the stress/psych explanation does sit better with me, though I'm sure I don't need to point out how obvious of a logical fallacy that is.
Oh, and completely unrelated: I still wanted to post that interview, but I have no idea how to host an audio file, well, I have some ideas, but I was wondering if there was something really simple, like YouTube, only for audio clips? anybody know?

again slightly unrelated about metabolism they are in fact inheirited from parents.
Metabolism is both genetic AND self-regulated. Someone that has all of the genetic and environmental odds still can look great. No matter what anyone tells you(As in anyone here.) or anyone tries to make you believe...it all comes down to a choice. I have tried to think of exceptions to the rule and I can't.

I've seen that kid before on TV or something like that. Some parents actually try but their kids can sometimes overpower them and hurt them just to get what they want! They are actually AFRAID of their kids so they give in! I hope when I have a kid that that won't happen... 🙁
I don't care how many t!ts a child has, he's not "overpowering" his parents, as least physically. The parents needs to stand firm and slap the Double Whopper with cheese out of his mouth, even if he throws a hissy fit.

Agreed, the moment you allow your children to beat the shit out of you is the moment you cease to be a parent.
