Yesterday I heard that if a mother eats fat/calorific food while she's pregenant/breast-feeding it determines the unborn childs eating habits leading to childhood obessity. Also if she leaves out somethinglike iron from her diet the child will not take foods with iron as easily.

Don't most mothers pig out during pregancy? You know, a valid excuse to get down and dirty at a Golden Corral? If that's the case, then we're in for an obese-ier future in this country.
(But I don't think it's that reliable because my mum drank loads of milk and I have never drunk milk since I was tiny.)
