untrue. if it did, the world would be a repressed society of ehtnocentric extremists whod kill others
Now I’ve finally confirmed it.
You don’t have the foggiest clue what Christianity is.
What he said was:
If the entire world followed the 10 commandments without waiver, the world would be absolutely perfect.
You shall not kill.
No. I'm not taking any position. I'm pointing out how leon is wrong in his attempt to refute this.
The Statement:
If the entire world followed the 10 commandments without waiver, the world would be absolutely perfect.
Leon's Counter:
untrue. if it did, the world would be a repressed society of ehtnocentric extremists whod kill others
You see how his argument is faulty?
That's all I was trying to say. Following the Ten Commandments and nothing else is impossible, anyway. A slab of old stone supposedly handed down from on high centuries ago can't be the only basis for a mature soceity today.

I understand. Do you not agree with your counter?
That's something I'm not sure of myself. I was raised Catholic and believe the ideals I was raised with have helped me be a better person. But I never once gave Communion or read the Bible in full.
So, my answer would be kinda yes and kinda no. The Bible can't be totally literal because several things in it defy what is confirmed solid historical fact.
And it can't be a solid guidance and teaching tool as some of its ideals are dated. Like have you ever read the passage about the man who rapes a woman must marry the woman? In that day and age, I don't think such a concept is so monstrous. But try applying that to today's norms.
So...um...I should really just say I got no clue what I believe. lol

I think you are very smart.
Christianity can help someone become a better, well-rounded person. However, it becomes dangerous when people take the Bible as literal truth.

the ten commandments are self contradictory in their practical execution. therefore to follow one in the world you would inevitably end up in positions where the others would be marginalised. im not the one who doesnt understand chritianity, your the one who doesnt understand the gist of my replies. again, not my problem.
