Nothing any Avatar has ever done comes close to Herald level.Splitting an island from a peninsula is High Meta. And that is the single greatest feat of any Avatar in the series.
Avatar state Aang is not and never will be Low Herald. Maybe when the next series comes around the new Avatar, Korra, might actually pull a Herald feat like moving a continent or bending an entire ocean's worth of water. Until then it's easier to say that the Avatar is High Meta.

People think Frieza is a low herald? Dragon Ball part 1 Roshi could catch machine gun bullets and destroy moons. Nappa could destroy a huge continent with only two fingers. Frieza >>>>>>>>>>>>> Nappa >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Roshi. Frieza is at least high herald.
Originally posted by CreshoskThe thing is, the Avatar is the DEFINITION of a glass cannon, he has a shield which he can summon, but really, I do not see someone like Ironman, a High Meta, having problems going right through it. Aang is only a very physically fit ten year old boy, even in the Avatar State physically he is very vulnerable.

Look, a constructive conversation on DBZ apparently can not be accomplished at this time, and therefore, I'm issuing an executive order and putting a 3 week moratorium on the discussion of DBZ characters in this thread.
Hopefully the recess can settle things down and we can discuss a tier placement for the characters without all the needless bickering.
Bada and Pig, from this post forward, please edit out any mentions of Dragonball Z from this thread until September 5th.
*edit
And use durs.

Originally posted by NemeBroi agree wholeheartedly. However, Iron Man would have trouble not dying before he could get though the Avatar's shield.

Using match-ups to discount the Avatar's placement in a tier isn't a good idea because outside of the Nickelodeon cartoon laws which restrict deadly force, the Avatar could kill almost anyone via blood/air-bending.
Originally posted by CreshoskHe is powerful, sure, able to Earthbend part of an island, stop volcanic eruptions, etc., but when he can literally be killed by a handgun, his power alone won't get him that far.

Not to mention the soldiers in each of the boats that aang sunk. The two that tried to capture toph and anyone who couldn't be reasonably saved from being dumped into water or explosions.
Originally posted by NemeBroAnd? Iron man without his armor could be killed by a handgun.

Aang in diamond armor couldn't despite how fragile they made the crystal formation appear to be.
Though on that note the flames from fire benders are powerful enough to destroy diamond it seems. Something to keep in mind.

No Avatar has ever shown to blood bend.
Originally posted by Creshoskwhen did i say "people didn't die" on the show? I said, the show wasn't allowed to use deadly force... e.g. using airbending to suffocate someone or ripping the water clean out of someone's body.

Edit: I also noticed a few low herald characters that have no durability but are in the tier due to their power. mmm
Originally posted by CreshoskOnly when speaking of Ironman, the tier only takes into account him in the armor. Unlike Aang, who would not start off every fight armored.

First of all, diamond is brittle. Second, when was it stated to be diamond? Third, in most fights, diamonds would not be inexplicably lying around. And if you want to bring up rock armor, even someone like Spiderman would not have much difficulty punching through rock.
Diamonds conduct heat, so they would not really be all that great for keeping you protected from it, also, firebending is often concussive in nature, if a guy with a rubber mallet can shatter a diamond, why not a giant ball of fire shot at a high speed?
Originally posted by marwash22Only Aang never learned Blood Bending. A power that was created not that long ago by Hama (relative to his own age anyway). It would be like giving Rhino master-class martial arts, theoretically he could become a martial artist, but he has yet to. Also, Blood Bending is completely against Aang's pacifistic-nature, he would never learn it, and as such in the Avatar State he would not know how to do it.

Originally posted by NemeBroAgreed, but i believe i qualified my statement by saying 'outside of Nickelodeons laws'; also, i believe this convo stemmed from OV claiming that "Avatar's in general, are not herald level"... so this conversation is not restricted to Aang and his pacifist nature, but to Avatar's in general. Another thing, since when does character effect forum fights? In pretty much ever fight, the first thing people say is "so and so will decap" or "so and so will force crush", etc... even if it's not in the character's nature to do so.

But more to the point, if one can bend tea and perfume... why not blood? It's not like bending blood was such a big deal, it's just that no waterbender had ever thought of it; it's akin to Toph's "creation" of metalbending in that, just because she's the first person to do it (and the only person shown doing it), it doesn't mean it's difficult to do. At the end of his fight with Ozai, Aang showed he could use seismic-sense, that alone would be enough suggest he can metalbend if he tried.

I'm surprised that you got it right that diamonds conduct heat... but...
"diamond is brittle"
" a guy with a rubber mallet can shatter a diamond"
Seriously?
