The Next Pokemon Game

Perhaps there are some new normal type moves, too. Also, Pyroar needs to get Hyper Voice.

Lets go Mega:

Mega Gyrados

Mega Tyranitar with the ability Sand Stream & Aggron with the ability Filter.

Mega Manetric. Manetric is exclusive to X but Manectite is exclusive to X. It has the ability Intimidate

Mega Medicham is Fighting/Psychic-type. It has the ability Pure Power

Mega Houndoom. Houndoom is exclusive to X but Houndoominite is exclusive to Y. It has the ability Solar Power

Mega Banette is Ghost-type. It has the ability Prankster

Mega Alakazam, is Psychic-type. It has the ability Trace

Mega Heracross, Y exclusive, is Bug/Fighting-type. It has the ability Skill Link

Mega Pinsir is Bug/Flying-type. It has the ability Aerilate which turns Normal-type moves into Flying-type

Now Mega Pinsir actually has the Attack stat necessary to use his ability. Flying type Return and Quick attack are pretty nice. Or Thrash, I suppose.

Mega Tyranitar looks epic. I also like both the bugs cuz I like bug types. But their designs are cool.

Tyranitar looks too squiggly and manetric looks like it would have problems standing up...

I was just about to ask how to decide which version to get. Mega Houndoom seems really tempting though.

Can someone point out all the exclusives for me so I can decide? That would be great.

From what I understand, several of these Pokemon have megas whose stones are only available in the opposite version. So keep that in mind.

I'm just happy he finally got some attention. I've been wishing for a Bug/Dark type Pinsir evolution since R/S/E.

So a community effort is required no matter what? Damn you, Pokémon! Why is this so damn hard?! Lol.

That image list makes me feel even more justified in sticking with X version, aside from maybe the one at the bottom (legendary I suppose?) not being as cool looking as the one on the bottom-right. I also like Charizard Y's wing span/design better than X's, but minor nitpick I suppose.

Aside from what was already said about bug-types, Mega Aggron seems like a freakin tank, Alakazam looks like he went Gandalf or something with the beard but I like it, and I love the kind of satanic look Mega Houndoom has going for it as well... In-game I'll give it the nickname Hell Hound for sure.

The legendaries still throw me off, because there are apparently different themed stories surrounding both games respectively. Still hard to decide.

As for Houndoom nicknames, I honestly think Akuma(Japanese for demon/devil) would be soundly fitting. Not trying to tell you what to do though. Just my opinion.

Well Y is enjoyable! My DS just died so I have to wait lol. I forgot about the special training you could do So I didn't use it until my Froakie evolved into frogadier. But I have completely taken him through it to "supremely trained" and my squritle is nearly done.

Yeah, I didn't start the super training till after my starter evolved for the first time too. It actually makes EV (effort value) training pretty fun in a sense, even if there still is that grinding aspect to it.

I did it for my starter, but it's essentially another time sink. If I cared that much i would just get action replay and manipulate the stats within possible limits.

What are your teams looking like?

I've got:
Frogadier
Honedge
Pikachu
Wartortle
Fletchinder
Vivillon

@ridley: Yeah I did the grinding for Squrtle/Wartortle and Frogadier. I think I may do it for a few others.

@Cyner: were did you get your pikachu?

So far I have caught/obtained the following....

Frogadier
Wartortle
Bunnelby
Fletchling
Pidgeotto..just evolved
Butterfree...evolved it all the way up
Skiddo
Smeargle...I kind of like this one!
Volbeat
Snorlax
Whismur
Meditite
Mienfoo
Inkay
Bagon
Wingull

Keep in mind some of the evolved ones are because of the team exp system. I only have my first badge. I have spent my time super training and catching.

Bagon is found that early?

Dang, must have missed it. Do you remember where you caught it?

Yup. in the big grassy area on the upper part of route 8.

Cool, thanks. I'll have to check it out. Hopefully, it's not exclusive to Y.

I went for the froakie/squirtle combo also!

I got the pikachu in the forest where shauna follows you around. So pretty early on. Also I can't list the pokemon i've caught because I have two boxes full already, just hit route 8.
