The Next Pokemon Game

Everyone seems to have gone for the Squirtle/Froakie combo despite how redundant it is to have 2 water types. Went with Fennekin and Bulbasaur myself.

Edit: Taking it slow personally. I've pretty much chosen my team which will be complete around Route 10(which I assume is pretty early lol).

I went for the froakie/squirtle combo also!

I got the pikachu in the forest where shauna follows you around. So pretty early on. Also I can't list the pokemon i've caught because I have two boxes full already, just hit route 8.

lol Im loving my Frogadier and I always go for Squirtle! I have mine split between the 2 boxes but neither are more then around half full right now.

So I just got a Swirlix from some guy in Japan. I did the wonder trade. I picked to trade a volbeat. The Swirlix isn't amazing but its exclusive to x and I have y to not bad lol!

Greninja and his Water Shuriken are pretty sweet!

I did it for my starter, but it's essentially another time sink. If I cared that much i would just get action replay and manipulate the stats within possible limits.

I used to do that with AR myself, but with how Nintendo's been cracking down on preventing those kind of devices from being put to work on games or punishing people that use them (turning an entire team into "bad eggs", etc.), it's not really worth it anymore, though I found some ways around it before.

With how Nintendo does patch kind of updates now too on the 3DS, any 'hacked' Pokemon you caught or Pokemon you hacked via altering their stats (whether it was just their IVs, EVs, or something) could become basically un-useable in the future, at least far as online, whether it's battling or trying to trade with someone. Nintendo's ghey when it comes to that kind of stuff, though with certain games of theirs that have been ruined online thanks to so-called hackers, I guess they're kinda justified in cracking down on eliminating the usage of action replay and other such devices.

Sigh, anyway... With how time-consuming the super training thing is to do with even just one Pokemon based on what you said, I think I'll only bother doing it with my starters, and certain favorites that I eventually get along the way. Can only do so much grinding before it takes the fun out of a game completely; more-so now compared to before anyway.

As for what my team's looking like, will have to get back to ya on that. It's not really something consistent or balanced as yet, so not really worth mentioning/listing atm. Been using some of the ones you got though like Pikachu, who surprising had a modest nature when I first caught one. More or less been happy with the natures of my team so far.

Love the new animations. Retaliation is probably the coolest looking attack ever.

I love the new updated battle cries as well. That and the animations kinda give the game a Pokemon Stadium/2 sort of feel, in both graphics and sound effects. Shows how far the main handheld games have gotten.

Pikachu's the only one that says it's own name though during a battle cry of course, which I guess is fitting.

did everyone get their Torchic?

I did, went for one with an Adamant nature. I'm really excited to catch some Honedges. Ghosts are my favorite type and a new one is always fun to try to me.

Not I. I'm having some internet trouble with my 3DS. But I hate Torchic anyway, so it's cool.

Some people are abusing the poke bank to get a ton of them. They are redeeming it, sending it to the poke bank, and erasing their save file to get another and so on. Idk if its working for real but they claim it lets you redeem over and over again if you keep erasing your save and starting over.

Oh yeah, Torchic. While I could get one, don't think I really want to. Team already has enough fire types with the starter(s) I ended up choosing.

While it's underrated, I'm glad this gen's fire starter broke the fire/fighting type starter trend Pokemon had going there for awhile, not to mention having two of my favorite types into one. Plus it's a fire fox... like the web browser!
/shameless internet pun

lol I needed a fire so I got Torchic. His mega is cool!

Ok so I caught Yvetal! I don't have Xerneas to compare him to but Yvetal is really awesome!

Just beat this trainer and when I saw the reference to "power levels" and them being "over 9000" I had a chuckle to myself lol, glad someone posted a vid on Youtube of it

So far I'm loving my journey, I can't seem to put the game down and with how easy it is to interact with others makes me so happy. This game's amazing 😄, not regretting my purchase one bit.

EDIT:^ I agree!!

Ok so I beat the story, the badges, beat the elite four, and became the champion. After the credits I walked out of my house and....

Spoiler:
the little girl that's a part of the five at the start offered to trade me a Fennekin. In return I could give her any pokemon I wanted! Keep in mind I started with a Froakie.
I didn't want to spoil it for anyone who wants a surprise!

Lol, Torchic is my favorite starter and Blaziken is my favorite final starter evolution. Its a flaming kung-fu chicken! Is there anything in the realms of imagination more awesome than that? I don't think so!

Torchic? Eww.

Anyway, disappointed in the games lack of end game content. Otherwise, quite a bit of fun and one of the better pokemon games. The ending was stupid though.

That theme is glorious. Professor Sycamore is defiantly one of the best professors yet.

Did everyone else know about Zygrade(another Legendary) and the original legendary Birds being in this game?!

Yep. Birds piss me off though. Not even shadow tag works on them. Whatever. I caught them all in HG, I'll just transfer them when the Pokebank comes up.

There is a way to track them with the pokedex. After you encounter them so many times you will actually be able to fight and attempt to catch them. Your way is probably faster. You can only get one per game depending on the starter you choose.

On another note Zygrade was a complete surprise for me. I must have used 10 ultra balls to catch him lol
